Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 834 – A Whirlwind of Waltz & Wiener Schnitzel!

Guten Tag, darling tutus! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another whirlwind adventure in the pink-tastic world of Pink Tutu Vienna!

This week, Vienna has been overflowing with the magic of spring and the sheer joy of all things ballet. As the blossom trees erupt into pink clouds of joy across the city, I’ve been completely enchanted by this romantic city! This week has been an explosion of elegant waltzes, delicious schnitzel and the glorious glow of pink – oh, and did I mention I’m still absolutely smitten with tutus?!

A Little Bit of Ballet History:

Speaking of ballet, Vienna has a truly exquisite ballet heritage. This city has been a hotbed of talent since the days of Empress Maria Theresa in the 18th century! This week, I found myself entranced by a magnificent exhibition at the Theater an der Wien, dedicated to the golden age of ballet in Vienna. The exquisite costumes, handwritten scores and photographs took me back in time – a world where powdered wigs and billowing tutus ruled the stage! It truly was a testament to the legacy of Viennese dance, reminding me of why the city has such a rich tradition in ballet.

Finding My Inner Ballerina

Of course, what’s a ballet obsessed gal to do in the heart of a dance mecca, but embrace the art form! I spent a divine afternoon at the renowned Vienna State Opera Ballet School. I actually had a little tutuing lesson, my very first ballet class outside of dear old Derbyshire. It was such fun learning some new moves and experiencing the magic of dance firsthand. I was so thrilled when a lovely Austrian lady gifted me a new pink tutu, just for me – now how’s that for a memorable experience?!

Train Tracks and Sparkling Jewels

It was a magical train ride into Vienna this week, with sunlit fields of yellow rapeseed painting the landscape and birds singing in a joyous symphony. When I wasn’t twirling on platforms or practicing pirouettes, I was completely immersed in the sights of this stunning city.

Speaking of sparkling jewels, I've been making a splash in the glamorous world of Viennese boutiques. Vienna's fashion scene is simply fabulous – I found myself amidst racks of breathtaking silk gowns, dazzling vintage costume jewelry and even a shop dedicated entirely to feathers. The whole experience was utterly captivating – perfect for inspiring my upcoming spring/summer wardrobe collection!

Dining with the Dancing Deities

After a long day of tutuing, ballet, and a spot of shopping, I always find myself utterly enchanted by the magic of Vienna’s cuisine. This week I went a little bit traditional – think Wiener Schnitzel with a side of potato salad, followed by Sachertorte – divine!

But I have to confess, my favourite moment of this week was at a cozy little restaurant in the heart of the city, sipping on an Austrian "Pink Grapefruit" cocktail and indulging in a conversation about the importance of wearing tutus with a charming Austrian gentlemen!

Pink Tutu Wishes:

Let’s raise our champagne flutes to all the beautiful ballerinas and fabulous fashionistas out there! I can't wait for all of you to see the amazing outfits and fashion inspiration I’m already collecting here in Vienna. Don't forget, it's never too late to embrace the world of ballet and wear a pink tutu - after all, life is always more exciting in a twirl!

I'll see you all next week, with more exciting adventures and a brand new pink tutu – oh and lots more exciting Vienna posts to come! Until next Wednesday darling tutus!
