Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #850: Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna šŸ©°

Wednesday 17th August 2011

Dearest Pink Tutu lovers,

Greetings from the enchanting city of Vienna! Itā€™s been a whirlwind of waltzes and waltzing, fashion and frills, and of course, pink tutus. Oh my, how I adore this city. Vienna is like a fairytale brought to life ā€“ a perfect mix of elegance and grandeur, topped off with that indescribable Viennese charm.

The journey here was absolutely delightful. A rather lovely train journey across the Austrian countryside; the landscape was a canvas of emerald green hills, vibrant sunflower fields, and charming villages, a true postcard-perfect picture.

And of course, I could not resist adding a splash of colour! My trusty pink tutu became a welcome distraction from the long journey, garnering a chorus of ā€œAwwwwā€ and smiles from fellow passengers. Letā€™s just say, I managed to sprinkle a little fairy dust on everyone's journey. āœØ

Vienna itself is a dream for a tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed girl like me. The grand opera houses, the sprawling palaces, the history - it's simply exhilarating! This morning, I had the incredible experience of touring the Vienna State Opera House. Oh, itā€™s breathtaking! All the opulent decor, the soaring arches, the plush red velvet seatsā€¦ I could practically hear the music of a grand symphony.

My trip so far has already been a dance through a whirlwind of enchanting experiences! Last night, I had the honour of attending a stunning performance at the Vienna Volksoper. The energy, the emotion, the passion - it was all simply incredible! Ballet truly speaks a universal language, and it was wonderful to see the Viennese audience lose themselves in the performance. I was entranced from start to finish. It was such an inspiration and Iā€™ve been scribbling away in my notepad ever since with ideas for my next performance back in Derbyshire!

Naturally, after the performance, I couldnā€™t resist a detour to the fashion haven of Mariahilfer StraƟe. Vienna's shopping is just divine - it's all about classic elegance and beautiful detail. I did, of course, find myself a little something pink ā€“ a darling little ruffled top that'll look positively fantastic with my pink tulle! And how could I forget about the shoe department? Some adorable little ballet flats caught my eye ā€“ perfect for waltzing the day away.

Speaking of dancing, you wouldnā€™t believe the number of ballet schools and studios Iā€™ve found around the city! Thereā€™s even a lovely ballet boutique down the street that stocks the most beautiful tutus! It seems like Vienna breathes ballet - a true treat for a tutu enthusiast like myself! šŸ©°

On that note, it's time for a ballet lesson, as I donā€™t want to miss my beginner waltz class this afternoon. Iā€™ll report back soon with tales of swirling skirts, spinning tunes and of course, more tutus.

Until next week,

Emma xx

P.P.S.

A few highlights of what Vienna holds in store for me in the upcoming week:

  • A visit to the Schƶnbrunn Palace: The home of Empress Elisabeth ā€“ I can already imagine the fabulous frocks I'll find inspiration in!
  • Exploring the Wiener Staatsoper Museum: To get a peek at the history of the famous Vienna State Opera ā€“ from the early days to the star-studded present.
  • A visit to the famous CafĆ© Sacher: Afternoon tea in one of the most iconic Viennese cafĆ©s, naturally Iā€™ll be sporting a charming hat and, you guessed it, a dash of pink!

Itā€™s going to be a busy, delightful and pink week in Vienna! Stay tuned for my next update on Wednesday!

Keep those tutus twirling,

Emma xx
