Vienna Waltz, Pink Tutu Dreams - #PinkTutuVienna Post #868

Hello darlings, and welcome back to #PinkTutuVienna, your weekly dose of pink tulle and travel adventures! Today we're whisking ourselves off to the glorious city of Vienna, the land of waltzes and charming cafes, where my pink tutu is simply sparkling with excitement.

As a Derbyshire lass, the chilly winter air just begs for a twirl and a touch of pink, and Vienna couldn't be a more perfect setting. Think grand palaces, cobbled streets lit up with twinkling Christmas lights, and an air of elegance that just calls for a flourish of my most beautiful tutu.

This week has been a whirl of exciting activities, each one leaving a touch of pink magic in its wake.

Wednesday - Ballet Bliss & Ballet History

My week began with a truly magical performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Vienna State Opera House. The setting was incredible, and the costumes were just breathtaking. Honestly, I could've lived in that theatre for a week, lost in the story of Clara and her enchanted nutcracker! After the performance, we took a delightful wander through the heart of Vienna, our conversation sparkling like the festive lights lining the streets. I had to pop into a shop I'd spied on Google Maps, and you won't believe what I found - a vintage, 1930s tutu made of the most delicate silk. Just picture it - a dusky pink, with tiny silver sequins and a ruffle so delicate it practically danced in the wind. Naturally, I snatched it up instantly, feeling like a princess from a bygone era.

Thursday - A Royal Horse Carriage Adventure

Imagine my joy when I stumbled upon a real horse-drawn carriage right outside my hotel. I knew instantly that this was the way to experience Vienna's old town charm. Dressed in my most elegant pink coat and hat (naturally, adorned with a touch of pink feathers), we climbed aboard the carriage. The horse was magnificent, and we were led down the narrow streets lined with brightly coloured buildings, passing cafes and bakeries. I swear, I could smell the warm gingerbread and cinnamon wafting from the windows, as though Vienna itself was offering me a treat! I even found time to steal a moment to imagine myself in the days of Mozart and Haydn, twirling through the streets in a magnificent, shimmering pink tutu.

Friday - Shopping Extravaganza

Friday was all about indulging my love of fashion, because darling, Vienna is a haven for beautiful clothing! We explored Graben and Kärntner Strasse, taking in the luxurious stores and charming boutiques. Of course, a pink-tutu-wearing ballerina can't resist a visit to a classic Austrian waltz dress store, so I snagged a magnificent coral satin gown, perfectly complemented by a vintage pink boa and a pair of glittering earrings. I simply had to have them!

Saturday - Exploring Imperial Delights

Vienna is steeped in history, so naturally, I was eager to explore some of its famous sights. On Saturday we spent the day in the magnificent Hofburg Palace, imagining life as an emperor and empress. My pink tutu might not be royal, but I definitely felt like I was starring in my own fairy tale as I twirled through the grand halls and admired the lavish interior.

Sunday - Waltz in the City of Music

It wouldn't be a trip to Vienna without a touch of waltzing magic! We took to the floor at one of Vienna's grand ballrooms, my pink tutu swaying as we whirl through a series of elegant steps. The music was enchanting, and we embraced the spirit of Vienna's waltzing heritage, every step a perfect reminder of the joy that comes with a twirl.

Vienna's Pink Touches

And here's a little secret - I think Vienna is secretly in love with the colour pink. It pops up in the most unexpected places. I even spotted a delightful café with the most darling, pink-hued macarons - a treat fit for a tutu-wearing princess. From the blossom trees in the parks to the whimsical, pink-tinted souvenirs in the shops, Vienna truly is a place where every detail sparkles with a touch of pink magic.

So darling, as I sign off for this week, I encourage you to embrace your own inner ballerina and inject a touch of pink magic into your own world. It could be as simple as buying a pair of pink ballet flats, dancing around your living room to your favourite music, or wearing a touch of pink in your daily outfit. Whatever your style, a little pink goes a long way!
