Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #873 - A Whirlwind of Pink in Vienna!

Guten Tag, my darling tutu-ettes! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, here, back from a whirlwind of a trip to Vienna, a city that's truly stolen my heart!

It feels a little surreal, sitting here at my little table at Café Sacher, a cup of Viennese coffee and a slice of Sachertorte in front of me, writing about my adventures. As I gaze out at the magnificent State Opera House across the street, my mind overflows with thoughts of soaring leaps, graceful pirouettes, and, of course, the delicate tulle of my favourite pink tutu.

This trip was an absolute dream, combining my two loves: ballet and travel! I always try to incorporate ballet into my adventures – after all, who can resist a waltz in front of the iconic Hofburg Palace, or a pirouette amongst the majestic Vienna Woods?

You might wonder how I finance all these fabulous trips, you ask? Well, dear readers, I have a secret weapon: my dancing shoes! Between travelling, blogging, and, of course, spreading the pink tutu gospel, I perform ballet shows and teach classes. It's a beautiful balance that keeps me busy and, most importantly, allows me to pursue my passion for ballet and all things pretty.

But back to Vienna! My journey started with a breathtaking train ride through the countryside. It's so wonderful to watch the world whizzing by from the window of a carriage, especially when it's the scenery of my beloved Derbyshire – and the trains here in Europe are so stylish and comfortable! I felt like I was starring in my very own vintage travel film!

Vienna was an explosion of history and culture. From the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the sprawling Habsburg dynasty's summer residence, to the heart of the city, with its enchanting cafes and bustling streets, every corner of Vienna pulsated with magic. Of course, I couldn’t resist a visit to the Vienna State Opera. The sheer opulence of the building, its rich history, and the exquisite performances, simply left me speechless. Imagine a majestic hall adorned with shimmering gold, velvety red curtains that dramatically parted to reveal an orchestra that poured forth a symphony of pure musical brilliance. I actually saw "Giselle," and I have to admit, I almost shed a tear or two! It’s a ballet that truly touches the soul.

One thing that blew me away was the fashion! Vienna boasts a thriving fashion scene. I went absolutely mad for the delicate, hand-crafted lace, the intricate embroidery, and, of course, the elegant boutiques brimming with the finest fabrics. As you know, my love for pink tutus is unshakeable, and I couldn’t leave without treating myself to a new one, a fluffy, soft tulle dream of a garment, the colour of blush-kissed sunset! It perfectly captured the city’s charm and elegance.

And of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without exploring its famous cafes. From sipping coffee in the elegant ambiance of Café Central, a haven for writers and artists, to devouring the irresistible Sachertorte in the original Café Sacher, Vienna offers a truly decadent café experience. There's something magical about sitting amongst the locals, soaking in the energy of the city and savouring every delicious bite of cake and every sip of strong coffee. It’s an experience that will always be a favourite memory from my Vienna adventure.

On my last day in Vienna, I treated myself to a very special indulgence - a ride through the Prater, a grand old park right in the heart of Vienna. A gentle horse pulling my carriage along, the warm sun kissing my face, the air filled with the scents of the forest, and me, of course, wearing my brand new pink tutu. This fairytale-like ride encapsulated the beauty of Vienna perfectly! It was the ultimate finishing touch to an already unforgettable experience.

You can imagine the number of outfit changes I squeezed in! Pink, of course, played a starring role – a bright pink dress, a pastel pink cardigan, a baby pink scarf. Even my new ballet shoes matched the pale pink shade of the city’s most beautiful architecture. But what surprised me the most was how comfortable and practical all the outfits were. I know what you’re thinking - you’re picturing my tutu and all its delicate fabric. You’d be right to think it wouldn't be the most practical attire, especially for a city like Vienna, where walking is a must, and a ballet outfit is just a little too out there, even for me! But, you see, there’s a reason why this is my favourite part of my journey: my love for finding new, more wearable tutu alternatives, for making ballet inspire your style from head to toe! From a cute and simple, full tulle pink ballerina skirt to an extravagant cocktail party gown, or even my beloved tutu paired with my favorite biker jacket - each of these garments has a beautiful and unique story to tell.

I've never felt more inspired, my darling tutu-ettes! Vienna, with its artistic spirit and historical charm, has breathed life into my creative well. This city is not just for opera and museums; it's for dreams, fashion, and pink tutus too! You see, I firmly believe in the transformative power of a pink tutu. I’m spreading the message around the world – let your inner ballerina shine, embrace your joy, your playfulness, and don’t be afraid to express your inner self.

Remember, life's a dance! I can’t wait to tell you more about my travels, and perhaps even teach you some of my moves! Join me next Wednesday, when I'll be sharing the next chapter of my journey on www.pink-tutu.com. And until then, don't forget to twirl, to shine, and, most importantly, to live your life in pink!

Much love, Emma xxx
