Post #923: A Tutu-tastic Waltz Through Vienna!

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, reporting live from Vienna, Austria! This week, I'm bringing you a dose of Viennese charm, with a generous sprinkle of pink and a dash of twirling, naturally! It’s Wednesday, so as always, my blog is back with a waltz of fashion, fun, and of course, a few ballet delights.

You know me, I just can't resist a pretty pink tutu. And Vienna? Oh my! This city was practically designed for twirling! From the gilded ceilings of the State Opera House to the charming cafes tucked away in the old town, there's an air of elegance and grace in every cobblestone street. It feels like I've stepped into a fairytale, and it wouldn't be complete without my favourite shade of pink – my go-to colour, naturally!

This week, Vienna has welcomed me with open arms, and a warm, enchanting atmosphere. As always, my travels are a whirl of ballet and beautiful clothes! Just the other day, I was waltzing around the city centre, admiring the stunning architecture while hunting for vintage shops – you can't resist the vintage boutiques when in Vienna! And, darling, you simply must check out the Kunsthistorisches Museum. Talk about opulent! I'm already plotting my next visit to their fabulous collection of ballet costumes - some absolute gems for a tutu aficionado!

It wouldn't be Vienna without a performance at the Staatsoper, of course. This week, they’re performing "Swan Lake". Now, if there’s a ballet with a perfect blend of grandeur and grace, it's that one! And the Vienna Philharmonic? Their playing is like liquid gold, swirling with emotions. My heart fluttered with every note. I'm simply a sucker for that majestic Russian romanticism.

While in Vienna, it’s all about waltzing and elegance, even on the streets. Did you know that the waltz was born here? That makes it doubly special! I even spotted a cute pair of pink shoes in a vintage shop on Kärtnerstraße - they looked absolutely fabulous, perfect for a graceful twirl around Vienna's streets! This week's blog post wouldn’t be complete without some inspiration on a delightful pink accessory or outfit to help make your week magical.

This week, I’ve found a little gem for a pop of colour. This vibrant pink silk scarf is just begging for a waltz! I plan on accessorising my trusty tutu with this little beauty for the upcoming performance of The Nutcracker. After all, a good tutu can never be spoiled by a lovely silk scarf, in my book. The Vienna State Ballet's performance of this enchanting ballet is a must-see for any ballet lover. With its enchanting story, graceful dances, and of course, the iconic "Waltz of the Flowers", it is the perfect ballet for a romantic escape.

But my love for this city extends far beyond the stages and ballrooms. One thing Vienna has done exceptionally well is preserving its natural beauty. The Schönbrunn Palace is pure fairytale magic, and the lush Volksgarten is a stunning spot for a relaxing stroll amongst the trees and the pretty floral beds.

And, let's be honest, there's no city in the world quite like Vienna. Its architectural beauty and cultural richness have left me completely enamoured. I found myself simply lost in the grand halls of Belvedere Palace, mesmerised by the beauty of Gustav Klimt's artwork – pure artistic magic!

Every Wednesday, I bring you my favourite bits of Vienna, but I know you’ll need a little something to help you dream in pink – that’s my special way of spreading tutu love around the world! My love of tutus isn’t simply a personal passion – it’s a way of life! I believe that every woman has a ballerina inside. Whether it's through graceful waltzes or simply putting on your favourite pair of pink ballet flats, let the feeling of freedom and confidence flow through you. It's all about embracing that playful and stylish side.

Let me know in the comments below if you’re visiting Vienna, darlings, and I’d be happy to share my favourite ballet secrets with you.

Keep twirling,

Emma xx
