Post #926: Vienna Waltz, Pink Tutu & All ๐Ÿฉฐ

Wednesday, 30th January 2013

Guten Tag, my darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed Emma, bringing you another slice of travel, fashion, and tutus straight from the heart of Vienna, Austria. This city is simply enchanting, and I feel like I've stepped straight into a Strauss waltz!

The train journey here from Derbyshire was divine, gliding through rolling countryside with a glass of Viennese wine in hand. You know I love travelling by rail - there's nothing quite like watching the world go by and catching glimpses of fleeting scenery. Of course, I made sure my pink tutu made an appearance for the trip! It's always a joy to spread a little sparkle on the tracks.

As soon as I arrived in Vienna, I knew I had to experience a proper Viennese waltz. This city is renowned for its rich musical history, and it wouldn't feel right to be here without getting lost in the rhythm of a classic waltz. Thankfully, there was a spectacular ball happening this evening at the Hotel Imperial, a beautiful, historical landmark that radiates pure elegance.

After a whirlwind morning spent browsing Vienna's boutiques for the perfect outfit for tonight (more on my finds later, you just have to wait and see!), I arrived at the hotel, my pink tulle billowing in the crisp air. I have to say, the grandeur of the place was breathtaking. Imagine gold and crystal chandeliers cascading down, walls adorned with historical portraits, and a vast ballroom fit for a queen! I instantly felt like a princess out of a fairy tale, and the anticipation of the waltz only made the moment sweeter.

Before stepping onto the dance floor, I had to share a glass of champagne with fellow tutu-lovers. You won't believe the amazing pink tutu I saw โ€“ it was a magnificent creation of feathered tulle and silk, like a dream come alive! We shared stories of our tutu journeys and even chatted about the best shops in Vienna to find our perfect tutus. Honestly, it felt like a little pink tutu-wearing heaven.

The music started, and I was instantly swept up in the romantic flow of the waltz. My partner, a dashing Viennese gentleman who reminded me of a charming Prince Charming, was a master of the steps, and the ballroom filled with a swirling kaleidoscope of elegant dresses and twinkling lights. It felt like a dream โ€“ magical and unforgettable.

Now, let's talk about the outfits! This ball was the epitome of elegance and style, with exquisite ball gowns, elegant jewels, and of course, some stunning tutus (some even pink!). I absolutely had to embrace the occasion and, after a little shopping spree this morning, I found the perfect outfit. It was a deep crimson, floor-length velvet dress with a dramatic train and a touch of shimmer that added a subtle sparkle. But the piece de resistance was the fluffy, pink tulle shawl that draped over my shoulders like a ballet dream. Let me tell you, it made me feel like a princess ballerina!

I wouldn't leave out the delicious food, which was nothing short of a feast for the senses. We had traditional Austrian fare - delicious Wiener Schnitzel, creamy goulash, and rich chocolate cakes - all accompanied by beautiful wine and even more bubbles! It was a night to remember, full of music, dance, laughter, and of course, plenty of tutu talk!

Vienna, you are truly a captivating city! It's not just the beautiful architecture, the lively atmosphere, or even the yummy pastries. There's something truly enchanting about the whole experience - a sense of history, beauty, and enchantment that draws you in and holds you captive.

You can't imagine how much inspiration this trip has given me for my next tutu collection! My vision is starting to blossom, full of colour, dance, and of course, plenty of pink.

Until next week, keep twirling!

Emma, your Pink Tutu Ballerina ๐Ÿฉฐ
