Pink Tutu Vienna - Blog Post #938: Waltz into Vienna with a Pink Tutu

Wednesday, 24th April 2013

Guten Tag, lovelies!

Vienna, oh Vienna. You've been whispering my name for months, and now, here I am, finally waltzing into your enchanting streets with my trusty pink tutu twirling alongside. I'm chuffed to bits to be in this magical city, the cradle of classical music and the heart of Viennese waltz! It's like stepping into a fairytale, where cobbled streets echo with the melodies of Strauss, and cafes are overflowing with artistic chatter. And as usual, my pink tutu is getting me some rather curious looks!

Train Travel in Style

This journey, my dears, was a delight in itself. Nothing beats a long train ride across Europe. Imagine - sipping on my favourite rose tea, the sun streaming through the windows, the landscape a blur of green fields and quaint towns. It was the perfect opportunity to finally get my nose deep into “Tutus Through Time”, a charming book on the history of ballet wear, while working on my latest blog post – naturally, all while sporting my latest pink tulle creation. I truly believe one can never be overdressed, especially when travelling. And what better accessory for a grand journey than a pink tutu, eh?

Vienna's Ballet Charm

I've heard Vienna's ballet scene is out of this world, so you can be certain I'll be taking full advantage of it! My first stop, of course, is the legendary Vienna State Opera, where I've snagged tickets for "Swan Lake" next week. The sheer grandeur of this venue makes me giddy just thinking about it! My pink tutu might need to take a brief break from public view inside (although a dash of tulle would certainly add a bit of extra glamour to the stalls, don't you think?), but I'm already sketching out outfits for a proper "ballet-after-dark" look!

Fashion on the Streets of Vienna

I haven't even had the chance to properly explore Vienna, and already, I'm absolutely in love! This city oozes history and style. I just had to pop into "Aigner", a renowned Austrian luxury brand. Can you believe I managed to snag a pair of the most beautiful ivory-colored ballet flats with intricate detailing? And to top it off, I discovered a gorgeous shop bursting with the most beautiful handmade, hand-painted silk scarves and accessories. One particular, dusky pink floral print has caught my eye… it simply screams "Viennese springtime". I just know my pink tutu is going to adore this new scarf, it's so chic!

Sweet Treats and Culture

This afternoon, I decided to have a rather civilised “pink tea" at the iconic Sacher Hotel, famous for its exquisite Sachertorte. After all, a good girl's got to have some cake. A delicate slice of rich, chocolate heaven with a generous dollop of whipped cream (and a cup of tea, of course) - truly, the perfect fuel for my upcoming days exploring Vienna's hidden gems.

Next on my agenda is a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum. It’s brimming with masterpieces of the Renaissance and Baroque, which is guaranteed to be inspiring. It might even give me a new perspective for a pink tutu design… who knows? My pink tutu dreams know no bounds!

A Dreamy City

Every corner of Vienna breathes with culture, and the charm here is intoxicating. Whether I’m admiring the artistry of the Hofburg Palace or wandering down the cobbled streets of the Old Town, my pink tutu is capturing all the magic and inspiring me in countless ways.

Stay tuned, darlings, for more pinktastic updates from Vienna!
