Pink Tutu Vienna: Blog Post #1000 - A Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna!

Hello my dearest Tutu Tribe! It's Wednesday, and that means another whirlwind adventure from your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller. This week, we're taking a waltz through the glorious streets of Vienna, the capital of music, waltzes, and of course, tutus!

I've always had a soft spot for Vienna. It feels like a fairytale city - think elegant palaces, cobbled streets, and that unique, romantic energy that just seems to hum through the air. And I just know that the pink tutu will fit right in!

I arrived by train yesterday, arriving in Vienna Hauptbahnhof (central station) - an incredible grand, glass-ceilinged hall! Just walking through that made me feel like I'd stepped back in time, especially with my own touch of pink tutu flair!

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without seeing the ballet. I'm going to the Vienna State Opera House tonight for a special performance of Swan Lake - oh, how I love a good classical ballet! I've been rehearsing my own pirouettes for weeks, so you know I'll be looking elegant in the most fabulous pink tutu I could find in Derbyshire before I left. It's all silk and feathers, and just the right shade of pale pink - a bit of ballerina chic, if you will!

This morning I woke up and made my way to the Hofburg Palace, Vienna's beautiful imperial palace. It's absolutely stunning, and I can just imagine the grand balls that used to be held here - swirling tulle and a cascade of pink! There's even a stunning Spanish Riding School within its walls. Can you imagine how fabulous it must look with the horses and riders and the riders' dressage attire in action!

But enough about the past - let's talk about the present! Vienna has the most amazing fashion scene - boutiques crammed with the latest trends, and vintage shops brimming with treasures just begging to be unearthed! Today I spent a delightful morning hunting for a unique piece of jewellery - a silver ballerina charm for my new silver chain. Imagine - dancing ballerina on a chain - my lucky charm and fashion statement rolled into one!

As the afternoon wore on, the sweet scent of pastries wafted from a quaint bakery, tempting me to indulge in a decadent Apfelstrudel. So I did. I paired it with a cup of delicious Vienna coffee - divine! My goodness, how I do love to be on the move and enjoy local food when I travel!

Oh! Before I forget, let's talk about my outfit today! I wore a vintage pink dress I found in Derbyshire. It’s so flattering with a beautiful, lace-detailed bodice and a gently flowing skirt. And you know I couldn't resist layering it with my favourite tulle pink tutu - that touch of playful pink always lifts my spirits and helps me to see the world in a more whimsical light. To finish it all off, a pair of silver flats - perfect for strolling through cobbled streets and dancing in the park later!

Tomorrow morning I’m taking a horse-drawn carriage ride to explore the city, and I’m just dying to visit the Schönbrunn Palace. It looks magical - and they have peacocks roaming around. Imagine, strutting my pink tutu amongst them! Oh, the pictures we'll have for the blog!

Oh, darling! My journey isn't just about ballet, shopping and horse drawn carriages (although those things are incredibly fun!). Vienna's steeped in music, history and the arts. You simply have to soak it all up.

Now, don't forget, if you'd like to know what Vienna has in store for you this week - pop on over to www.pink-tutu.com, you'll be able to read my blog, all about Vienna. New posts every Wednesday.
You never know, a trip to Vienna just might inspire you to slip on a pink tutu too!
