Vienna Calling! Pink Tutu Takes On The Waltz Capital (#1043)

Oh my darling readers, prepare yourselves for a whirlwind of Viennese delights, pink tutus, and the most delicious pastries you've ever encountered! This week, your favourite ballerina blogger (that's me, Emma, in case you've forgotten!) has ventured into the heart of Austria's waltz capital, Vienna!

The journey itself was pure magic. I traded the rumble of a Derbyshire bus for the elegance of a sleek, silver train that whisked me through rolling hills and shimmering rivers. I sat gazing out the window, my pink tutu billowing around me, feeling every inch the glamorous travelling ballerina!

And speaking of tutus, Vienna has been positively bursting with inspiration for my sartorial choices! While the streets aren't quite as tutu-friendly as London's theatre district, there's something about the grandeur of the architecture, the rich history swirling around you, that practically demands a pink tulle explosion! Just imagine, darling, a crisp white blouse, a perfectly tailored black jacket, and my signature pink tutu floating behind me, all against the backdrop of the iconic Vienna State Opera House - absolutely divine!

Vienna has always been synonymous with ballet. Think of the waltzes, the legendary Vienna Opera Ballet, the imperial palaces… and even the horses! That's right, my lovelies, Vienna is a place where the horses dance alongside the ballerinas. Who knew?

And what better way to start my Vienna adventure than with a visit to the Hofburg Palace, the very heart of the Habsburg Empire? The palace was absolutely bursting with history and grandeur. From the exquisite interiors to the Imperial Treasury overflowing with treasures, I was transported back in time.

And did I tell you about the horses? Well, Vienna isn't just about the opera ballet. It's about a real-life ballet performed by horses, all harnessed up, elegantly trained, and showcasing some impressive pirouettes, darling!

I also found myself drawn to the world of opera. Vienna's love affair with classical music is simply captivating, and seeing an operatic performance, my favourite ballerina in a pink tutu, sipping sparkling grape juice and feeling the emotional undercurrent of the performance… Pure magic!

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without indulging in a little bit of shopping, and let me tell you, Vienna has me completely entranced! From the chic boutiques on Graben street to the traditional craft markets showcasing exquisitely designed souvenirs, I was in shopper's paradise! And naturally, I couldn't leave without a few delightful additions to my wardrobe, including a shimmering emerald green scarf (just the perfect contrast to my pink tutu!) and a pair of vintage ballerina flats adorned with exquisite lace (a nod to Vienna's traditional craftsmanship).

But let's not forget the delicious treats Vienna is famed for, my darlings! Viennese coffee culture, decadent cakes, strudels that simply melt in your mouth - my inner gourmand was absolutely ecstatic! From the world-famous Sacher Torte to a classic Wiener Schnitzel (delicious!), Vienna truly understands how to indulge your senses!

My lovelies, as the sun sets on this enchanting city, I feel a twinge of sadness, but it’s balanced by the thrill of having experienced so much. Vienna has a magic you just have to feel to truly understand. It’s like a swirling waltz, a symphony of art, culture and exquisite taste – all while looking chic in your best pink tutu, of course!

Stay tuned, my dear readers, as I explore more of this magnificent city next week, with more pink tutus and Vienna-inspired fashion coming your way. I’m on a mission, after all! To make the world a more tutu-filled place!

Don’t forget, I’m here to share this magical journey with you each week, every Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com! Come join the pink tutu revolution!

Yours in tulle, Emma x
