Vienna, My Darling! - Pink Tutu Adventures: Post 1056
Hello my darlings! It's Wednesday, and that means another Pink Tutu post from your favourite Derbyshire girl, Emma, bringing you all the sparkle and glamour from Vienna, Austria! I'm absolutely in love with this city, it's like a fairytale come to life! The architecture is so beautiful, the people are friendly, and the pastries are...well, let's just say I've been indulging in a little too much Viennese Sachertorte! 🍰
This week, I've been whisked away on a magical adventure filled with ballet, shopping, and more pink tutus than you could shake a stick at! As always, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog post without a bit of history. Did you know that Vienna was a hotbed for ballet in the 1700s? It was home to some of the most influential choreographers and dancers, and the legacy of that time is still evident in the city's grand opera houses and prestigious ballet academies. I actually saw a beautiful performance of "Giselle" at the Vienna State Opera last night. I almost choked on my petit four when I saw a ballerina wearing a tutu with the most intricate pink embroidery! It was like something out of a dream!
But Vienna isn't just about ballet, oh no! It's a fashionista's paradise! My wardrobe is positively bursting with new purchases. The shopping here is truly out of this world, with countless independent boutiques and high-end department stores offering the most gorgeous clothes and accessories. I just had to splurge on a new pair of pink stilettos (for that "ballerina on the town" vibe), and a delicate pearl necklace that perfectly matched my vintage pink tulle tutu!
I have to confess, it’s all been rather tiring! There’s a lot of ballet watching going on this trip, so I've been getting lots of rest in between. Luckily, I managed to find a beautiful pink-painted horse-drawn carriage and took a delightful ride through the city streets. What can I say, I’m a sucker for anything romantic and a little bit decadent! The ride through the cobblestone streets of the Innere Stadt was like stepping into a Victorian novel. Imagine, pink tutu, delicate blush hat, carriage, and me…it was absolute bliss.
Today, I'm taking a much-needed break from the bustling streets and exploring the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace. I've heard rumours of secret gardens and a captivating imperial zoo! You can't visit Vienna without paying your respects to the Hapsburg dynasty! But, I promise, a Pink Tutu visit to the Schönbrunn wouldn't be complete without a little ballet-inspired dance around the palace grounds! I might just try to squeeze in a little picnic in my tutu. Who wouldn't want to eat croissants surrounded by elegant baroque architecture? (Hint: Me!).
But that’s not all! I’ve got another exciting update. Remember the dance-off competition I was telling you about? Well, guess what? I won! This means a big opportunity to take my love of ballet and fashion to the next level. It's top secret right now, but keep checking in here on the blog, because soon you’ll be hearing about a pink-tutu themed project that I'm dying to tell you all about! 🤫
Now, don't forget my dearest followers, the purpose of this blog and this crazy pink tutu quest is to bring a bit of magic and joy into your lives! So get out there, dance like no one's watching, embrace your inner fashionista, and, above all, be brave and wear your pink tutu proudly!
Sending you lots of love and positive energy!
Until next Wednesday,
Emma 💖
