Pink Tutu Vienna: A Viennese Waltz in a Pink Tutu (Post #1062)

Oh my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means a new Pink Tutu Vienna adventure is upon us! This week, I've travelled all the way from my quaint Derbyshire village to the magnificent city of Vienna, Austria. Now, I've always had a soft spot for this historical, music-filled haven – just think, the birthplace of the waltz! – and I just had to share it with you all.

Before I delve into the Viennese magic, let's chat a bit about the journey itself. There's nothing quite like boarding a train with my favourite pink tutu, feeling the wind whip past the windows, and letting my imagination wander. It was the perfect opportunity to brush up on my ballet history, you know, those gorgeous costumes, the famous dancers… oh, the stories! This trip, I felt so much like one of those Romantic ballet heroines – a little dramatic, maybe, but hey, I'm a tutu-clad, travelling ballerina!

Viennese Waltz

The train deposited me in the heart of Vienna, and as I stepped out onto the platform, the first thing that hit me was the charm. Think cobblestone streets, elegant architecture, and horse-drawn carriages… It felt like I’d been transported back in time, to an age of grandeur and romance. It was practically screaming for a pink tutu moment!

Speaking of pink tutus, I must confess that I’ve been experimenting with different shades. In Vienna, a deep, rosy pink just seems to work so well with the city's historic grandeur. Imagine me, a vision of pink swirling past the Hofburg Palace, Vienna's stunning Imperial Palace, as the locals gasp in delighted awe – oh, wouldn't that be divine? I'm already working on some sketches for a Vienna-inspired tutu!

Of course, Vienna is more than just historical beauty. I had to explore the vibrant local culture – and what better way to do it than through fashion? After all, the way I see it, there's no better way to experience a place than through its clothes. Now, imagine me trying on fabulous frocks at the Stadtpark, the city’s grand public park, or browsing for unique trinkets and handmade goodies at the Naschmarkt. I'm so thrilled with some of the treasures I found – think elegant hats and gloves, vintage scarves and silk ribbons! My travelling pink tutu wardrobe is getting a serious upgrade.

Dancing with the Stars

One of the main reasons for my trip? You guessed it - the ballet! You simply can't be in Vienna and not be swept away by the magic of ballet. I saw the most captivating performance at the Vienna State Opera House – their version of Swan Lake had me utterly spellbound. The choreography, the music, the costumes... I felt every emotion! I actually bought myself a gorgeous replica of Odette's costume for a dance recital back in England. Just imagining the reaction from the audience… oh la la

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a lesson or two at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. Now, there's nothing quite like feeling the energy of that historic dance hall and stretching those muscles. You see, it's important for this ballerina to stay fit! Even as I am in the midst of planning my ballet and fashion tour of London, I am always improving my skills. My little Derbyshire town loves to see me dance, especially in a pink tutu!

Sweet Treats & Viennese Charm

Besides the dancing and the fashion, I also wanted to experience the heart of Viennese cuisine. Think creamy cakes, delicate pastries, and melt-in-your-mouth chocolate - oh my! My favorite? The Sacher-Torte. I just couldn't resist indulging in its rich, dark chocolate layers and delicate apricot jam. Oh, it was worth every calorie! (I have a bit of a sweet tooth, you see...)

This is my 10th trip abroad this year, and each one has inspired new ideas for my tutu designs! Each place is like a colour to inspire me, Vienna is a warm pink and deep brown colour, while New York, for example, was bold pink and black!

I do hope you enjoyed my Viennese waltz through the world of Pink Tutu Vienna. If you have any questions or wish to leave a comment on this week’s post, please do. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for my blog next Wednesday, I will be posting another new post, until then stay happy, healthy and fabulous.

Now, I'm off to search for more inspiration in this beautiful city. Until next week, darlings!

With love,

Emma
