Vienna, my Dearest! #1080

Good Wednesday morning lovelies! It's me, Emma, back from another whirlwind week of travel and tutus! Today I'm bringing you all the glorious pink goodness from Vienna, a city that truly stole my heart with its waltz-like charm and a sprinkle of fairytale magic. As always, my pink tutu was a constant companion, adding a touch of playful elegance to every cobblestoned street and grand cafe.

Before I get lost in the whirl of Vienna's delights, let me rewind a bit. I made my way here via a thrilling journey on the Orient Express. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Emma, aren't those days gone?" And yes, the original Orient Express, the one from the glamorous stories and films, is sadly no more. But there is a wonderful revival called the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express which runs along the same iconic route. I'll confess, a part of me yearned to board the actual carriages, to feel the whisper of history brush past my cheeks, to imagine those legendary travellers of yore. But alas, for someone with a slight tutu phobia (yes, I get nervous of them getting trodden on!), the old-fashioned train wouldn't have been the best choice. So, I hopped aboard the luxurious, modern equivalent, and let me tell you, the journey itself was as enchanting as a fairy tale!

The rolling landscapes whizzed past my window, a kaleidoscope of snow-dusted mountains, frosted vineyards, and sleepy villages โ€“ a landscape painted in shades of pearl and gold. My cabin was like stepping into a boudoir straight out of a Jane Austen novel โ€“ elegant and cozy, adorned with plush velvet, ornate mirrors, and beautiful flowers. I sipped on delicious hot chocolate while gazing at the passing scenery, lost in my own whimsical world, imagining myself in one of those historical novels set on the train, a touch of drama and romance sprinkled in for good measure.

Then, a grand entrance, worthy of a ballet dancer (naturally)! Vienna welcomed me with a symphony of charm - a harmonious blend of classical grandeur and a hint of Bohemian energy.

Now, this city, much like my love for tutus, is a veritable kaleidoscope of beauty and history. Every corner whispers tales of royalty, waltz tunes echoing through the elegant squares, and the ghosts of Mozart and Strauss waltzing around the opera house. Speaking of ballet, did you know that Vienna is considered the "Ballet Capital of the World"? Well, not officially perhaps, but trust me, when it comes to ballet performances, Vienna takes the crown with a beautiful pirouette.

The very first thing I did upon arriving, of course, was to seek out a ballet performance. I'd heard about the "Wiener Staatsoper," Vienna State Opera, and let me tell you, it truly lives up to its reputation! I settled into the velvet-cushioned seat of the majestic opera house, its ornate ceiling adorned with a masterpiece of painted frescoes. And oh, the ballet was breathtaking โ€“ a tale told through movement, where every graceful gesture spoke volumes.

A Ballet Blogger's Must-Do in Vienna

I canโ€™t write a post without sharing a little fashion secret, can I? In Vienna, it's all about finding that perfect balance between sophisticated and playful. A simple yet elegant ensemble is the key!

My ballet-inspired wardrobe in Vienna was a lovely combination of classics and bold statements, a real treat for the senses! I was practically glowing in my delicate pink silk blouse with a flattering black and white print, paired with a fluffy tulle skirt (because how could I not?) and statement ballet flats in a deep crimson red. It's so elegant yet comfortable โ€“ perfect for strolling around those lovely cobblestone streets.

A Bite of Vienna

I'm not the sort of blogger who doesn't discuss food. Oh no, food is art, a symphony for the taste buds! It's impossible to come to Vienna and not indulge in the culinary delights that the city has to offer. I had to try the famous "Wiener Schnitzel" โ€“ thin, crispy, and utterly delicious! I paired it with a creamy potato salad and a glass of fruity Austrian wine โ€“ simply heavenly!

Vienna, much like my beloved tutu, is a captivating world, filled with whimsy and wonder. If you are a ballerina at heart, a lover of all things romantic, and have an appreciation for beautiful architecture and the captivating history that unfolds around each corner, this enchanting city is your next ballet shoe-wearing escape.

Vienna, youโ€™ve stolen a piece of my heart, and it's a piece I know I'll always treasure. Until next Wednesday, dearest readers!
