Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #1124: Waltz Me Away!

Wednesday 16th November 2016

Darling readers! It's me, Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, writing to you from the magical city of Vienna! The crisp autumn air is nipping at my toes as I write this, but my heart is brimming with warmth, fuelled by the incredible Viennese spirit I've experienced so far.

It's been a whirlwind of waltzes, pastries, and, of course, a whole lot of pink! I just had to wear my favourite bubblegum pink tutu, the one with the layers of tulle that make me feel like I could fly, for my debut at the Vienna State Opera. The chandeliers glittered above me, the orchestra was tuning, and the whole atmosphere was positively electric with anticipation.

It was a beautiful performance, the classic waltz moves swishing around me like silk. Vienna is synonymous with waltz, so naturally, the show had to feature the gorgeous 'The Blue Danube' by Strauss. You all know how much I adore ballet and music - it's the perfect pairing, wouldn't you say?

Before the performance, I spent a delightful afternoon exploring the city's charming shops. I managed to snag a vintage pink fascinator with delicate feather plumes for a bargain in a tiny little antique shop on a side street. I absolutely couldn't resist!

Speaking of shopping, have you seen the stunningly glamorous gowns they wear at the opera here? My dream outfit for the night would definitely have to include a full-length tulle skirt in the most beautiful shade of rose pink. Maybe I'll create a tutu version of this - one can dream, right?

For a true Viennese experience, I absolutely had to visit a cafe. Let me tell you, there's a real art to Viennese coffee culture. It’s not just about a quick cup of joe – it's an entire social experience. I settled in at the Cafe Sacher, sank into a plush velvet chair, and enjoyed a cup of traditional Viennese coffee with a decadent piece of Sacher-Torte. Just the perfect combination for a blissful afternoon of writing.

Vienna has been an absolute delight so far. I’m not just falling for the city, but I'm also finding myself falling even more in love with all things pink!

Speaking of falling in love, remember my new love? My magnificent steed, Caramel, the stunning chestnut mare I bought while visiting the stables just outside Derbyshire! He’s coming with me on the next leg of this journey, and we’ll be making our way to Vienna's historical Schonbrunn Palace. Did you know it's the oldest zoo in the world? I hear it's as enchanting as it sounds, and I can't wait to wander the grounds, admire the breathtaking architecture, and, of course, see what kinds of tutus would best suit the grand setting.

I'll tell you all about my exciting adventure at Schonbrunn in next week's post. Don't forget to tune in!

Remember, my lovely readers, life is far too short for dull clothes and boring days. Embrace your inner pink and make every day a tutu-tastic adventure!

Love,
