Vienna Waltz: A Pink Tutu Tale (Blog Post #1128)
Guten Tag, my darling tutu-lovers!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Pink Tutu Vienna blog post! This week, I'm writing to you from the heart of Vienna, a city steeped in history, culture, and, most importantly, fashion.
My trip to Vienna is a whirlwind of waltzing waltzes, historical charm, and a pink tutu that's just itching to spin around the Hofburg Palace! I'm not kidding; I have the most fantastic pink tulle masterpiece I found in the city’s enchanting Old Town – a delightful vintage number with the most exquisite lace. I had to have it. I couldn’t possibly resist, it’s simply divine. It's practically screaming, "Emma, take me dancing!"
The Magic of Vienna:
This city is absolutely brimming with old-world elegance. Imagine cobbled streets lined with opulent buildings, each whispering tales of emperors, composers, and, yes, ballet! Vienna's rich history and beautiful architecture inspire me in ways you can't even imagine.
But let's get down to the real reason I love this place – the ballet! Vienna is known for its breathtaking performances, and I'm so excited to be catching the Vienna State Opera's rendition of "Swan Lake" tonight. Can you imagine, swans, tutus, and me?! Honestly, it's going to be a dream come true.
The Tutus of Vienna:
You already know I have a weakness for tutus, and Vienna definitely understands my obsession. I've been finding vintage treasures in the most charming shops. There are some fantastic little boutiques in the backstreets where I discovered some exquisite tulle fabrics. You know me, I just can’t resist a pretty pink tutu fabric.
You won't believe this, but the other day I walked into a store and came face to face with a hand-painted, vintage pink tutu – it's completely irresistible! I snapped it up for my upcoming performance at the Schönbrunn Palace (yes, you heard that right – I'm performing in the actual palace gardens! I'm so excited to waltz in that historical setting).
A Day of Pink & Parisian Chic:
Yesterday, I indulged in a truly pink day. Imagine, tea in a stunning garden courtyard, wearing my new pastel pink tulle skirt, then spending the afternoon browsing the vintage clothing shops in the Graben – and trust me, Vienna has some real gems hidden in its back alleys. I couldn't resist picking up a darling pair of pastel pink heels, and yes, they’ll be perfect for my performance at the Schönbrunn Palace!
And then, the pièce de résistance: I discovered this gorgeous antique pink tulle shawl with the most intricate embroidery! It's perfect for layering over my tutu, wouldn't you say?
A Parisian-Inspired Day of Fashion & Fun
Okay, so maybe you won't believe me when I tell you, but this is the second time I’ve done this on my travels; yesterday was so Parisienne, you know? Parisian flair with an Austrian twirl! Think, delicious pastries at a cozy café (where else do you find a delicious pastry selection that also includes a vegan pastry selection? I am in pastry heaven), then afternoon shopping and ending with an incredible meal, dancing at an old-world cafe. If that's not a perfect day, I don't know what is!
A Whirlwind of Pink in Vienna
It’s true; I have so many things to share with you! Oh, and this won’t surprise any of you – it’s already time to find my perfect pink waltz dress because I’m performing at one of the many incredible Viennese balls in January – my tutu won’t do here! (Don’t worry, I will still find ways to work my favourite piece in somewhere.)
This city just has it all – historical elegance, romantic waltzes, charming coffee houses, delectable cakes (vegan and non-vegan) and, of course, endless fashion inspiration. And did I mention I'm seeing "Swan Lake"? Seriously, Vienna, you're my new best friend!
And the best bit? This incredible trip is completely self-funded! Thanks to all my hard work, I’m making a real go of my ballet career, funding my travels and adventures with every performance. My pink tutus, the stunning stage costumes I get to create and wear and my passion for all things pink and ballet, really are the most beautiful dream! If you ever want to have a dance and maybe a pink tutu makeover, just come and find me in Vienna! I am all for sharing the joy of ballet and a good dose of pink tutus. And if you love this story, let me know – tell me what you’re thinking, give me your suggestions, and remember to sign up for my weekly blog on my website at www.pink-tutu.com.
Until next Wednesday, keep your tutus twirling!
Emma x
