Vienna Waltz: A Tutu Tale in the City of Dreams

Post #1146: Vienna, Austria - 19th April, 2017

Hello my lovely pink tutu-ers! It's Emma here, back with another blog post straight from the heart of Vienna! This beautiful city has captivated me with its majestic architecture, charming cobbled streets and, of course, its rich history of music and dance - a perfect playground for a ballerina like myself!

I arrived in Vienna yesterday, taking the scenic train route from Salzburg, a journey that reminded me of something straight out of a classic fairytale! There’s something so romantic about being able to sit back, look out the window and watch the world go by. And let’s not forget about the charming conductor who greeted me with a beaming smile and a helping hand as I settled into my plush carriage!

Of course, no journey of mine is complete without my trusty pink tutu. It wasn’t quite the “look” on the train, but let me tell you, that wasn’t going to stop me! My pink tutu and I had an impromptu photo shoot on the platform with the breathtaking Salzburg backdrop!

Today, Vienna has truly enchanted me with its abundance of wonders! I woke up with the chirping of birds, which somehow sounded more elegant here than anywhere else I’ve been. My hotel, situated near the majestic State Opera, offered the perfect location for a leisurely breakfast accompanied by the most delicate croissant I've ever tasted - heavenly!

I spent the morning exploring the vibrant street market outside the Opera. My pink tutu was a natural conversation starter. Imagine my surprise when I encountered a lovely old lady who reminisced about her youth and the golden age of ballet! She even confessed that she wore tutus at a young age, adding, "Every girl should wear a tutu at least once in her life!" This encounter further solidified my mission – to bring the joy of tutus to every corner of the world.

After my charming market escapade, it was time to explore the city’s magnificent Hofburg Palace. As I entered, the breathtaking interior reminded me of the magnificent dance balls I’ve seen depicted in period films – glittering chandeliers, intricately carved ceilings, and walls adorned with stunning tapestries. I could just imagine myself waltzing gracefully through the grand halls, my pink tutu twirling around me in a vibrant whirlwind.

Now, as the day draws to a close, I’m settling in for a delightful evening of Vienna’s famed Waltz at the Kursalon! The music fills the air, echoing from a century ago, inspiring an incredible sense of romance.

Tonight, the grand waltz shall guide my every move! And my tutu, you can be sure, will be making a statement as I pirouette to the beautiful melodies!

Tomorrow, I have booked a ballet class at the famous Vienna State Opera! Imagine, me, dancing amidst the very space where the greats have graced the stage – the thrill sends a shiver down my spine!

Follow me along, my pink tutu-ers, for my upcoming adventures in the City of Music, Vienna. I promise a blog full of fabulous tutus, whimsical outfits, delicious discoveries and all things pink.

Until next Wednesday, Stay pink, Emma xx
