Vienna, Darling! A Tutu-tastic Time in the City of Music (Post #1147)
Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the absolutely breathtaking city of Vienna. This is, quite frankly, the most beautiful city I’ve ever been to. From the grand buildings and cobbled streets to the lush parks and the majestic Danube river, Vienna simply captivates me. And, of course, the fact that it's the home of the Vienna State Opera House? Well, that’s just a dream come true!
As you know, this week’s blog post is all about Vienna, a place that has truly enchanted me. I arrived on the Eurostar, the most beautiful way to travel. My first journey took me across the Channel, through France and straight into the heart of Austria! The scenery was stunning. I even saw a herd of magnificent horses in a field along the way, their manes shimmering like gold in the sunshine. A true sight for sore eyes!
Vienna has a magic about it. It feels timeless, almost like a fairytale. And what could be more fairytale-esque than a magnificent ballet performance in the very theatre that Mozart and Strauss once graced with their presence? I simply had to see a performance at the Vienna State Opera. And let me tell you, it was a spectacle beyond anything I could have imagined.
My favourite part? The beautiful costumes, naturally. They were so elegant and extravagant, and of course, there was the odd pink tulle here and there. I mean, when it comes to a ballet, you can't resist a little bit of pink tutu inspiration, can you?
I took a tour of the theatre, where I saw some stunning backdrops from operas I have read about in ballet history books. It was like stepping into a museum, only better! It's the attention to detail, the intricate craftsmanship that really blows your mind.
Afterwards, I did a little shopping (you know me, darlings! My love of clothes is legendary) and stumbled across a lovely vintage shop crammed full of exquisite antique fabrics. Imagine my delight when I discovered the most delicate and pretty vintage pink tutu! I snapped it up immediately and couldn't wait to try it on.
After my whirlwind of a day, I tucked myself into a little Viennese cafe, enjoyed a delicious slice of Sachertorte and sipped on a cup of coffee while I wrote my journal entries. Yes, Vienna has definitely found a little corner of my heart.
But my travels are far from over! Next on the itinerary, a horse-drawn carriage ride through the heart of Vienna. Just imagine the perfect pictures. Pink Tutu Emma in a vintage carriage, surrounded by the architectural grandeur of Vienna! What could be more romantic?
And don't forget, I’ll be back next week with another post full of tutu-tastic delights from my Vienna adventure. Be sure to check back for more pictures, adventures and a whole lot of pink tulle.
Until then, stay fabulous!
Your dearest Emma xx
