Pink Tutu Vienna: Post Number 1162 - A Viennese Whirl (Wednesday, 9th August 2017)

Dearest Tutu-Lovers,

Well, hello there! It's Emma, your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling travel blogger, back with another thrilling tale from my European adventures. This week, I've landed in Vienna, Austria – the city of waltz, music, and, of course, beautiful architecture that’s a veritable feast for the eyes!

Vienna has always held a special place in my heart. The legacy of Mozart, Strauss, and ballet greats like Rudolf Nureyev simply call to my soul. I just knew it was only a matter of time before I got here, all aglow with a pink tutu on my pretty little self.

A Ballet Dream in Vienna

Stepping off the train, I felt like I'd travelled right into a fairytale. The historic architecture and cobbled streets are straight out of a waltzing dreamscape. Oh, to be swirling and twirling amidst those enchanting palaces!

Right away, I hit the city centre and discovered a wonderful store called "Tanzwelt" (which translates to Dance World, in case you were wondering), chock full of ballet gear and adorable dancewear. It felt like I’d entered a wonderland of shoes and tutus. Of course, a perfectly pink tutu found its way into my shopping bag – what's a trip to Vienna without a touch of tulle, eh? It will be perfect for the ballet shows I’m seeing later this week, and I can’t wait to pair it with my new pink ballerina shoes!

Speaking of the ballet, Vienna's ballet scene is renowned worldwide. And my goodness, the shows here are simply stunning! This week I've got tickets for “Giselle" at the Vienna State Opera House, and a chance to watch the “The Nutcracker" at the Vienna Volksoper. How exciting!

Discovering Vienna in Pink

Of course, a visit to Vienna wouldn't be complete without experiencing the iconic landmarks. We visited the stunning Schönbrunn Palace and took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city's picturesque streets. I must confess, the gentle trot of the horse really enhanced my tutus' swish – a beautiful, romantic touch!

I even caught the tram to Belvedere Palace to see the incredible works of Gustav Klimt – his art, especially “The Kiss", is so full of beauty, emotion, and drama, it just felt so right for this tutu-clad traveler.

The Beauty of Ballet

Afternoons in Vienna, I love wandering the streets, looking at all the beautiful architecture. My tutu is always a real conversation starter – it's surprising how many Austrians adore ballet, even the younger generation. It just goes to show how timeless and enduring the grace of dance truly is. And when I stop for a coffee at one of Vienna’s chic cafés, the pink tutu always brings a touch of magic and sparkle. And yes, I'm a coffee fan. And Viennese coffee is simply divine. I've found myself a delightful café on a little side street - they make the most exquisite cappuccino!

Sharing My Tutu Love

Throughout this whole trip, it's amazing how the city’s vibrant history and energy have inspired my creative side, which I have to say, is positively bubbling over! I've been capturing Vienna in pink – through my blog, my Instagram (which I update every single day – I really love the look of my pink tutu next to Viennese architecture, so do take a peek! I'm at www.pink-tutu.com if you'd like to say hello, I'm always happy to hear from you!), and through a new ballet piece that I'm choreographing based on my Vienna adventures!

And of course, this little pink-tutu-wearing ballerina wants to know – what do you love most about Vienna? What ballet shows are your favourites? Let me know your tips in the comments – I’m all ears!

I hope this blog post inspires you all to go explore and live your dream in your favourite colour and with your own tutu-twirling passion. Vienna has given me a new wave of creative energy, and my new pink tutu collection is already taking shape – this trip will certainly live on in my memories (and in my future pink wardrobe).

I hope your week has been delightful and full of twirls, darlings! Until next Wednesday, happy dancing, and always remember, wear a pink tutu, if it feels right.

Emma xxx
