Vienna Whirl: Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of Music 🩰

Hello my darlings!

Welcome back to another edition of Pink Tutu Vienna, post number 1163! This week I’m bringing you a little bit of magic straight from the heart of Vienna – the city of waltzes, pastries, and of course, exquisite art and architecture.

It feels surreal to be in a city so steeped in history and culture. Just the other day I was exploring the Schönbrunn Palace gardens, picturing Empress Sisi flitting about in her elaborate gowns. Then, bam! I was whisked back to the 21st century by a flock of rollerbladers zooming past, their music pumping. I love this about Vienna; it's a beautiful blend of old and new, and that, my friends, makes it the perfect backdrop for a pink tutu.

(Psst… if you’re ever visiting Vienna, make sure you stop by the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre – I just saw a fabulous rendition of "The Nutcracker" that had me completely enthralled.)

Speaking of pink tutus, I have to tell you about my latest find! In the charming, cobbled streets of the 1st district, I stumbled upon a tiny vintage shop that was practically bursting with frills and lace. I emerged triumphant with a delicate tulle skirt – the perfect blush pink to complement my ballerina fantasies! You see, there's nothing quite like twirling down a cobblestone lane in Vienna wearing a pink tutu, is there? (Let’s not forget the essential Vienna coffee, the Viennese coffee – with or without whipped cream? Let me know in the comments.)

This week, Vienna has treated me to a plethora of cultural experiences. I managed to squeeze in a visit to the famous Vienna State Opera House (oh, the ornate details and the velvet-lined balconies! It practically screams "ballet, ballet, ballet!"). There’s no feeling quite like being surrounded by a community that adores the art of dance – that’s what makes this city feel so special to me.

Fashion Find of the Week

One of my favourite pastimes in any city is exploring the local shops, so I spent the weekend wandering the grand boulevards and finding the most amazing stores. For this week’s fashion find, I’m showcasing a pair of beautiful handmade ballet shoes – I snagged them at a small artisan workshop tucked away in the side streets of the 7th district. Let’s just say I’m looking forward to debuting them at the next Viennese waltz session!

Tutu Tuesday?

This Wednesday, I’m heading back to my ballet class – which is absolutely glorious, as I get to take my ballet training up another notch. There’s a beautiful sense of camaraderie amongst my fellow students, and there's nothing quite like pushing myself to my limit with every plie and pirouette. My inner ballerina is absolutely delighted!

Vienna has been the perfect backdrop for my current tutu mission: to spread the joy of pink and tutus around the globe! After all, who doesn't love a bit of whimsy and joy in their lives? It’s been so much fun seeing smiles appear on the faces of strangers who never imagined they'd be charmed by a tutu-clad ballerina in the middle of the day. It truly is the simplest way to add a little bit of sunshine into the world!

(Did I mention I am looking for the perfect coffee cup to match my latest pink tutu? A Viennese artisan is going to be crafting one for me!)

Don't forget to head over to my website at www.pink-tutu.com, where I'll be sharing some more details about my latest tutu discoveries and sharing snippets of my Vienna adventures with the world!

Until next week, my dears!

Love,

Emma
