Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #1177 - A Viennese Waltz of Dreams! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’•

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Vienna post! ๐Ÿ’Œ This week, I've been swept away by the waltz of Viennese charm, and let me tell you, it's a whirl of exquisite delights!

Before I tell you all about my fabulous adventures, I'd like to thank you all so much for your lovely comments on last week's post about my fabulous new pink tutu from Harrods in London! ๐Ÿ’• I wore it to my ballet class at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, and it made my pirouettes feel even lighter!

But now, back to Vienna, the city of music, magic, and... tutus! ๐Ÿคฉ

As a self-proclaimed ballerina at heart, Vienna has been on my travel list for a while now. It's not just the city's connection to waltz and opera (two of my favourite things!), but it's the beautiful architecture, the charming coffee houses, and the exquisite fashion sense. My fellow pink tutu enthusiasts will understand what I mean. The Viennese women have such flair! ๐Ÿ’ƒ

To get here, I hopped on a comfortable train in Derbyshire, where I left behind my mum and my kitties for a week, before heading straight for a ballet show. Of course, I couldn't miss the Vienna State Opera - what a dream! ๐Ÿคฉ The theatre is simply stunning, the performance was breathtaking, and the orchestra played like angels. I felt like I was whisked away to another time. It's one thing to read about Strauss, but experiencing it live is truly a thing of beauty. The costumes were just perfect! I even spotted a little touch of pink in one of the dancers' tutus, perfect for a fellow Pink Tutu fan like myself! โœจ

My stay in Vienna wasn't just about performances though. I also ventured out to explore the city itself, which I discovered is like stepping into a fairy tale! Imagine cobbled streets lined with grand palaces, quaint cafes serving steaming cups of Viennese coffee, and friendly people always happy to greet you with a "guten tag"! The air is alive with music, and you can almost hear the sound of waltz music drifting through the air. ๐ŸŽต

Naturally, a visit to the Schรถnbrunn Palace, one of the world's most iconic imperial palaces, was a must-do! It was where Empress Maria Theresa resided and the opulent halls of this magnificent building tell tales of bygone grandeur. What I love about old places like these, apart from the beautiful dรฉcor, is thinking about how the royal people would have worn their gowns, dresses, and perhaps even tutus back in the day. Would they have worn a pink one I wonder? ๐Ÿค”

For those of you with a passion for ballet history, a trip to the Vienna State Opera Ballet Archives is a must! There's something so thrilling about getting up close with costumes and memorabilia from famous ballets throughout the years. You can almost feel the energy of the dancers as they prepare to take the stage. ๐Ÿฉฐ

On my visit to Vienna, the Christmas markets had started to open and boy oh boy, I've never seen so much sparkle and cheer. Each little stall is filled with festive delights, from traditional wooden toys and warm pastries to twinkling Christmas decorations and artisanal crafts. It's truly a wonderland, particularly for a pink tutu enthusiast! Think fluffy, pastel pink Christmas decorations for my apartment back in England, and the prettiest Christmas ornaments in pale pinks for the tree.

Now, for my lovelies in Vienna, you simply MUST visit Cafรฉ Central, a truly majestic spot with marble columns, chandeliers and a buzzing energy! And just in case you don't already know this, Vienna is the birth place of the Sachertorte - one of the world's most decadent and delicious chocolate cakes. So if you're a fan of all things chocolate and elegant cakes, then I highly recommend giving it a try!

And speaking of sweet treats, you've got to have some Wiener Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel to enjoy all the classic tastes of Vienna. To end the evening, why not treat yourself to a glass of Viennese wine? Or better still, Sparkling Wine. They are known to make a rather fine one over here. And for those who, like myself, enjoy the delights of a fine horse, do take a Fiaker (Viennese horse carriage ride) for a tour through the city's charming streets! ๐ŸŽ

All of these experiences have truly touched my soul. Vienna is truly the most delightful, charming city and I am going to try and get back here in the summer to visit again. And of course, to get to know even more of Vienna's captivating charm, there's something for everyone, no matter what your passions may be!

Well, darlings, I must dash! Vienna has so much more in store for me, and I can't wait to tell you about it all in my next post. I think it's about time for me to get myself to Sacher's for one of those divine Sachertortes.

Until then, keep your twirling spirits high! ๐Ÿ’•

Yours in pink tutus and Viennese charm,

Emma
