Pink Tutu Vienna: Episode 1191 - Waltz in Vienna! 🩰💕
Guten Tag, my lovely readers! It’s Wednesday again, which means a fresh new Pink Tutu blog post just for you! And this week, I'm whisked away to the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria! My ballet performances have been bringing in a lovely amount lately, and after some serious tulle-filled deliberation, I decided that this city was a must for my next Pink Tutu Adventure.
Vienna: The City of Dreams and Ballet!
Ah, Vienna, a place that truly whispers with elegance, history and music. From the stunning architecture to the beautiful music, I already felt a glimmer of inspiration the moment I arrived at the grand railway station. But what made my heart truly skip a beat, was seeing a sign for the Vienna State Opera!
The entire city seems to be soaked in dance history. Vienna's influence on ballet is truly significant, having been home to renowned dancers and choreographers like Anna Pavlova and Rudolf Nureyev. My tutu just couldn't wait to explore this city!
Day One: Pink Power in the Schönbrunn Palace!
Vienna's iconic Schönbrunn Palace was my first stop, a place that literally emanates imperial history. I practically floated through the halls, imagining Empress Maria Theresa herself whirling through those rooms in her ballgown, and picturing the intricate court balls with their waltzing grandeur. The Palace Gardens are a vision! Lush greenery, statues, and a gentle breeze made it the perfect spot to take some ballet-inspired photos in my "Pink Power" tutu – a fluffy pink tutu adorned with glittery butterflies! My Instagram followers went wild!
Day Two: Vienna State Opera – A Grand Ballet Extravaganza!
Of course, my main reason for coming to Vienna was to witness the splendour of the Vienna State Opera! My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I first entered. Gold gilt, grand chandeliers, red velvet seats - it was just beyond my wildest dreams! And the ballet itself, Giselle, was phenomenal. It's a story of love, betrayal and a touch of magic. The dancers were phenomenal! I couldn’t help but want to leap up and dance with them. The costumes, the movements, the entire experience left me speechless.
Day Three: A Tulle Trail through History and Shopping!
Vienna has a fantastic network of museums and art galleries, each telling a different chapter of its history. I even visited the Palais Liechtenstein, where they had a collection of beautiful, intricate portraits from Vienna’s royal family. And let me tell you, those ladies knew how to accessorize! There were more elaborate hairstyles than you could imagine and I could even spot a couple of ladies in powdered wigs that looked surprisingly similar to tutu toppers.
Vienna is a shopper’s dream. I lost myself for hours in the narrow cobbled streets filled with charming boutiques and art galleries. I found the perfect pink brocade hat with a feather that perfectly complements my Swan Lake inspired tutu. This one’s for a very special performance I’ve been asked to give at the Royal Albert Hall! (More on that in a later post!).
Day Four: Horse-Drawn Elegance!
Feeling adventurous, I opted for a horse-drawn carriage ride to see the city's historic charm! It was the perfect romantic way to get acquainted with the Vienna Woods and take in the scenery! Just picture it: me, swishing my pink tulle as I clinked champagne glasses with a charming gentleman in a top hat. It truly felt like stepping out of a ballet! I took a little inspiration from this and decided to try my hand at dressage in the Vienna Riding School! Talk about feeling like a ballerina!
Day Five: Final Farewell - Dancing to My Heart's Content!
After my day at the Riding School, I found the cutest little cafe in a corner. They served a delicious Viennese apple strudel that I devoured while daydreaming about ballet performances, future travels and of course, more tutus!
With a light heart, a heavy suitcase, and a newfound appreciation for Viennese history, I boarded my train to my next destination. Until next time Vienna!
Outfit Inspiration!
Vienna, with its timeless beauty and graceful movements, inspired a new line of ballet-inspired dresses I'm calling "The Vienna Waltz"! They’re in a delicate shade of pale pink and will be adorned with pearl beading and shimmering sequins, just like a Viennese waltz!
