Vienna Waltz - Pink Tutu Takes on Austria! (Post #1213)
Hello my lovelies!
It's Wednesday which means a new Pink Tutu blog post! This week I'm whisked away from the charming cobblestone streets of Derbyshire to the magnificent imperial grandeur of Vienna, Austria. I'm so excited to share my adventures with you!
Vienna! This beautiful city is calling me to a whirl of waltzes, enchanting waltzes. I can practically hear the Strauss waltzes echoing through the streets. But first, let’s discuss the journey!
Oh my, where do I start? The journey, well, it was absolutely charming! It felt like stepping into a vintage movie. My very own train trip! Now I know what you're thinking, “Isn't it much faster by plane?" But for me, there's something truly magical about winding your way through the picturesque landscapes, letting the rhythm of the rails lull you into a tranquil dream. Plus, the windows offered a stunning view of fields in full bloom, perfect for daydreaming about tutus and ballet in a meadow.
What could be better? It was like something out of a ballet - I found myself perched gracefully near a window (almost, there were other passengers - a slight let-down to my ballet inspired performance) on a beautifully appointed train. This is my style of travel - all elegant, old-fashioned charm.
You might think, how does Emma travel to Vienna on a train and pay for her journey when she's a dancer? It's simple. This week my lovely sponsors at 'Pink Pointe Shoe Company' have entrusted me with the magnificent task of visiting their stockist, the enchanting 'Ballet Shoe Boutique' right here in Vienna! It’s a collaboration I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of! Their stunning ballerina footwear has given me a real boost to my professional dance life.
When the train journey finished and I stepped off into the magnificent, golden hued city of Vienna - what a beautiful sight. I gasped at the golden facades of the old buildings. A vision of elegance and beauty met my gaze! A city drenched in history, and of course - waltz-inspired beauty. Now you’ve probably guessed, but, I found myself in a beautiful, perfectly pink and silver, antique carriage. You know my obsession with the old! It was such a splendid carriage to be swept off to my very own opulent Vienna hotel, right in the centre of this beautiful city!
It’s such an exciting time to be here! For those who know their classical music, tonight is the night to be in the Stadtpark - as Vienna’s beloved waltz-inspired orchestra is performing 'A Night of Strauss'! I've been attending rehearsals for the last three days, (all in a dazzling pink tutu of course!) - you'll just have to wait to see the stunning dress I will wear tonight! The director - an old friend - asked me to open the show in a waltz. It's all a bit surreal for a ballerina girl from Derbyshire, but honestly - wouldn’t you jump at this chance?!
Anyway, right now I'm tucked away in my beautiful room - well I'm still trying to take it all in! It is definitely ‘vintage pink’ with beautiful, rich fabrics and delicate silk curtains and wallpaper to match my gorgeous, elegant pink tutu which is right next to me in a perfectly pink, elegant display box, gleaming with the beautiful shine of its white satin. I don’t just pack any tutu for an important occasion, and it’s perfectly matching the shade of pink in my room, to the wallpaper. If you were to imagine ‘Vintage Pink’ I think this room would be it! It’s a pink that whispers a story about beautiful Austrian nobility, about long and magical evenings filled with music and dance. My style!
So many things to see and do here - it’s simply glorious! I must stop there, I'm due to depart for a magical ride through the magnificent 'Prater'. The oldest theme park in the world - an enchanting world of beauty. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.
Speaking of enchantment, I'm currently enjoying a beautifully elegant breakfast, of pastries, strawberries and whipped cream! A real treat! And naturally, I'm sporting my most beautiful pink ensemble for the occasion - of course. After breakfast I'll have a quick chat with the most lovely boutique owner in the world, she's invited me for tea and cakes in her private garden, in the middle of her most charming 'pink' shop! Then I’ll go and see what else this most delightful city has to offer! Vienna - you’ve totally stolen my heart already! I'm off now to a ballet class before my waltz debut at 7pm this evening. It's amazing, I think Vienna is starting to feel a bit like home - I’m going to feel perfectly at ease wearing my gorgeous pink tutu here - and to be honest - wouldn’t we all be more confident and stylish if we were in a Pink Tutu? Stay tuned, and check back here tomorrow for more enchanting experiences from the capital of Austria!
What I'm loving today...- Vienna’s waltz inspired orchestral performances: I'm such a huge fan of classical music, and I think it's great how Vienna celebrates its musical heritage! It makes you feel as if you are stepping into a grand waltz from a beautiful era of elegance and romance - a time of exquisite craftsmanship. It’s really such a magical feeling, I’m a huge fan!
- My enchanting, and oh so very pink, hotel suite.: This beautiful, vintage-pink, luxurious suite is making me want to take a long, beautiful nap and wear my fanciest tutu while I am asleep! I just can’t get enough of vintage style! And my personal favourite colours!
- The perfect Pink Tutu. I will be sporting my best pink and silver creation tonight at the concert - my gorgeous, sparkly, pink tulle tutu, perfect for waltzing the night away - just as I am, here, in Vienna!
- Fashion inspiration in the heart of Vienna Vienna is a fashion capital - you really need to just look at the stores to see what I mean! This city's historic elegance is everywhere you look. The fashion - inspired by ballet of course - has to be perfectly classic, beautiful, sleek - very high fashion with just a touch of vintage and modern touches and of course… that perfect colour.
- My very own horse and carriage ride in the Wiener Prater This park is a lovely mix of history, amusements and green spaces, and a brilliant place to do some tutu-worthy, pink ballet themed photo shoots. A horse and carriage is just one of many treats in store in Vienna for me.
See you all soon. Remember – embrace your pink side! I think a little pink tulle, worn with elegance and flair can make all the difference - I don’t need to say anymore about this. See you next Wednesday with another fabulous post - straight from Vienna, darling.
Stay tuned. xx
Emma
