Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure, this time from the glorious city of Vienna! I'm currently writing this from a little cafe in the heart of the city, sipping a divine cappuccino and dreaming of all the waltzing, tutus, and fairytale charm that this magical city has to offer.
This week, I'm all about embracing the "Vienna Waltz" - a whirlwind of waltzing, exquisite architecture, and delicious Viennese pastries. I mean, can you even imagine a more perfect combination?
Let's just say, darling, Vienna has truly stolen my heart. It’s a city that truly understands the magic of the pink tutu, as I quickly discovered whilst wandering around the opulent Schönbrunn Palace and the charming, cobblestoned streets of the city centre. There’s something about the grandeur and history of Vienna that just begs for a twirl – in a tutu, of course!
It’s a feeling I truly haven't felt anywhere else! Everywhere you look, Vienna feels like stepping into a ballet. There's a beautiful blend of art, culture, history and fashion all woven into one big, gorgeous fairytale, with stunning buildings that would make even the most glamorous ballerina swoon! And of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in some delicious Viennese pastries – let's be honest, they practically deserve their own tutu, wouldn't you say?
Here are a few things that are absolutely blowing my mind about Vienna this week:
1. The Ballet! Oh my gosh, the ballet! It's not just any old ballet. I'm talking about the Vienna State Opera, the place where legendary ballerinas have graced the stage and legends are made. Just imagining myself waltzing across that magnificent stage fills me with such excitement – a real pinch-me moment! You guys, they have performances nearly every night! It's like a ballet extravaganza every single day. This week I'm planning to see a new production of Swan Lake - and I’m absolutely ecstatic! This beautiful ballet classic never fails to inspire me. It's an enchanting combination of grace and elegance, and, of course, the exquisite tutus are simply divine! And did I mention the iconic swan costume with its amazing tutu?
2. The Shopping: Oh darling, the shopping is another reason I've fallen for Vienna. Vienna is a shopping paradise, particularly when you are on a mission to find the perfect pink tutu for any occasion, from a graceful waltz to a leisurely afternoon at a Viennese café. I have discovered some hidden treasures here. There’s a fantastic vintage clothing store in the 7th district called "Tutu Chic." They're all about tutus! I actually discovered a vintage pale pink tulle tutu from the 1960s – absolutely exquisite and an absolute steal! You can’t find anything quite as lovely in England!
3. The Horse Drawn Carriages: If waltzing and twirling are your thing, a romantic ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the streets of Vienna is an absolute must-do! Imagine this, picture yourself dressed in a delicate tulle pink tutu with a stunning matching flower crown. A soft melody playing in the background and the clip clop of horse hooves, all around you the exquisite architecture of Vienna - absolute perfection. I've found it really helps get me in the mood for my next ballet performance. You guys, it's SO romantic!
4. The Food and Coffee
Oh darling, you know me. A foodie at heart! And Vienna really has something for everyone. And let’s talk about the pastries and coffee! Oh darling, let’s just say that the famous Viennese Apple Strudel deserves its own blog post! It’s pure heaven!
This trip has definitely left me with a yearning for Viennese pastry perfection and an abundance of lovely new inspiration.
Pink Tutu Outfit Of The Week!
Today, I’m all about a sophisticated look, fit for waltzing in Vienna!
- Pink Tutu: This is a must, darling. I've chosen a delicate, layered tulle tutu with a lovely powder pink colour. It’s airy and elegant, perfect for gliding around the cobblestoned streets of Vienna.
- Top: A classic, blush-toned silk blouse with a fitted bodice and a billowing sleeves. I've paired it with a dainty pink floral brooch to add a touch of whimsical elegance.
- Shoes: This look is all about comfortable elegance. I'm sporting my signature Ballet pumps - a delicate pink with a touch of sparkly gold detail - absolutely gorgeous,
- Hair and Accessories: I’ve kept my hair down today, but a little crown of fresh, pink rose blossoms in my hair always brings the perfect touch of fairytale charm.
- And to complete the look, a fabulous straw bag and my beloved pearl earrings!
You’re not a proper Vienna fairy unless you're carrying a tote bag overflowing with those iconic pink ballet slippers.
Vienna has already captured my heart and ignited my imagination in so many ways. I'm going to miss those cobbled streets and the gorgeous architecture. But, rest assured my dear lovelies, this is just the beginning. This fairytale, like a gorgeous tutu, has just begun!
