Darling readers!
How are you all doing? As you know, my little pink heart is forever flitting about the globe, always searching for new adventures and discovering enchanting corners of the world. This week, I've alighted upon the gloriously opulent Vienna, a city that seems to whisper tales of waltzes, waltzing, and more waltzing.
And believe me, there's no better way to soak up the spirit of this historic city than in a pink tutu!
Now, some might say a pink tutu in Vienna is a touch eccentric, a bit much for the esteemed streets of the Austrian capital. But I'm not here to blend in, darling. I'm here to stand out, to turn heads, and to remind everyone that life is simply too short to wear beige.
As I hopped off the train from Budapest - such a fabulous train journey, darling, through the rolling hills and meadows – I knew Vienna was going to be magical. The moment I stepped onto the cobblestone streets, I could feel the history pulsing through my very being.
From the stunning State Opera to the majestic Hofburg Palace, every building seemed to sing with tales of royalty, emperors, and grand balls. Imagine my delight, darling, at the discovery that a number of Viennese ballet schools were hosting open classes throughout the week! As a lover of all things ballet, naturally I couldn’t miss out on the chance to pirouette in such exquisite settings.
And oh, the shops! Vienna has simply blown me away with its selection of the most breathtaking, whimsical vintage clothing. It feels like stepping back in time, with each piece a whispering relic of a bygone era. Imagine my joy at finding a vintage tutu from the 1950s, the perfect shade of blush pink, with intricate hand-stitched detail. It’s already a staple of my wardrobe.
Now, a true pink tutu journey wouldn't be complete without indulging in the Viennese obsession with pastries, darling! Let me tell you, Vienna takes cakes to a whole new level of exquisite artistry. The sachertorte, a dark chocolate cake layered with apricot jam and dusted with icing sugar, was a dream come true. And, let's not forget the apfelstrudel, oh, how I devoured it, savoring each buttery bite!
But this trip isn’t just about indulging, darlings! There's an extraordinary exhibit currently on display at the Kunsthistorisches Museum - a showcase of tutus from throughout ballet history. I can hardly contain my excitement at seeing the ethereal gowns that graced the stage, the grand tutu from Giselle, the elegant pointe shoes of the great ballerinas, oh, how I longed to leap onto the stage with them!
As my stay in Vienna winds down, I must say, it has left an indelible mark on my soul, not just for its exquisite beauty, but also for its timeless elegance, its respect for tradition, and its undeniable charm. And, it goes without saying, its ability to bring out my inner twirling, prancing princess!

There is no more intoxicating, freeing and simply delightful way to get caught up in Vienna's magical atmosphere!
