Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #1315
Wednesday, 15th July, 2020
Guten Tag from Vienna, my lovelies! Itās your favourite pink tutu-clad travel blogger Emma here, writing to you from the heart of Austria. This week has been a whirlwind of tutus, waltzes, and strudels! Oh, and did I mention a bit of shopping too? I mean, a girl's gotta keep her pink wardrobe stocked, right?
As always, my journey to Vienna was a delightful adventure. There's something so magical about travelling by train, especially when you can squeeze in a few minutes of ballet stretches in your compartment! (Don't worry, I'm always mindful of my fellow passengers - no grand jetƩs in the aisle just yet.) But hey, I just can't resist a good twirl even in transit! It's a bit of ballet magic for the everyday.
Vienna, of course, is a haven for all things beautiful and graceful. From the magnificent architecture, the iconic Schƶnbrunn Palace, to the breathtaking waltzes that fill the air, thereās something truly inspiring around every corner.
Vienna ā A Dance of Tutus and Traditions
Let's be honest, I'm a sucker for a good ballet performance, and Vienna just seems to draw them in like a magnet! Iām delighted to report that Iāve already experienced two sensational ballet performances in this magical city. Firstly, the Staatsoper, where I was captivated by a stunning rendition of āThe Sleeping Beauty.ā The costumes were exquisite - a vibrant pink tutu, anyone? (Needless to say, I found it incredibly inspiring!). The intricate steps, the sheer talent of the dancers, and the breathtaking scenery - oh my, it was simply exquisite!
Then there was a delightful ballet show at the Volkstheater, where the performance took me right back to my early ballet training days, the light-hearted fun of ballet as a beginner. The show, featuring a modern interpretation of the classic fairy tale "Cinderella", featured a charming ensemble of young dancers, and the overall atmosphere was truly enchanting!
But it wasn't just ballet that filled my heart with joy this week. Vienna has a way of weaving history, culture, and elegance together to create an intoxicating tapestry of delights.
Pink Tutu History: A Waltz Down Memory Lane
I couldn't resist exploring the history of tutus. And guess what I found? In Vienna, where the waltz was born, thereās a special connection to the evolution of the tutu. From the elaborate gowns of the early ballets to the more form-fitting tutus we see today, the history of dance and costume goes hand in hand. It seems the Viennese ballerinas were trendsetters in more ways than one! I am in awe of the creativity and craftsmanship that have gone into the development of ballet fashion, from the beautiful embroidery and delicate layers of silk to the incredible use of colour, the evolution of the tutu is a joy to discover!
And speaking of colour, I just couldn't resist visiting a few of Vienna's iconic shops. After all, a pink tutu deserves the perfect pink accessories. Right?
A Pink Shopping Spree ā Tutus and Trousers, A Viennese Harmony!
Vienna has a vibrant and chic shopping scene. From the bustling boutiques of Mariahilfer Strasse to the designer stores of the Goldenes Quartier, it's a shopper's paradise! Of course, I made sure to check out some of the city's exquisite hat shops - perfect for a dash of Viennese glamour to my everyday look, right?
The highlight was a delightful boutique where I found the perfect pink velvet handbag to carry my tutu with ā itās all about keeping my best bits safely tucked away for my next big performance!
Now, I know some of you might be thinking, āBut Emma, why the fascination with pink tutus?" Well, the simple answer is this: Pink is a colour that speaks of joy, hope, and grace - qualities that I believe every girl deserves to embody.
And tutus, well, letās face it, they represent a sense of whimsical wonder, of dreams and aspirations coming to life! A tutu empowers you to embrace your inner child, to be bold and playful, to find your inner ballerina - no matter your age!
Vienna - A City of Enchantment
And you know what? The magic of Vienna truly embodies these sentiments. Whether it's the grandeur of the city's architecture, the beauty of the waltzes, or the charm of the everyday life here, this place truly celebrates life's joys. And what better way to embrace it all than by twirling around in your most fabulous pink tutu?
Whatās to comeā¦
Next week, I'm off to explore the depths of the Viennese horse world. Iām talking carriage rides through the parks, learning about Lipizzaner stallions at the Spanish Riding School ā I'm imagining myself riding a magnificent white stallion through the cityās ancient streets, twirling my tutu like the princess I truly believe myself to be!
Now, until then, why donāt you head to my favourite tutu-related website? Itās chock-full of inspiration for your next pink tutu outfit: www.pink-tutu.com .
Letās bring a bit of magic into your life, my lovelies.
See you next week, for more Pink Tutu Adventures!
Much love,
