Pink Tutu Vienna - Blog Post #1340

Wednesday, 6th January 2021

Guten Tag, darlings!

It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm positively giddy to be writing to you from Vienna, the city of waltzes, Wunderkind composers and, most importantly, gorgeous architecture that's as inspiring as a tutu on a prima ballerina!

As many of you know, I'm a huge fan of train travel - it allows me to soak up the scenery and escape the chaos of airports. So, after a perfectly delightful journey through the rolling hills of Bavaria (who knew cows could be so picturesque?), I arrived in Vienna last night, and let me tell you, I felt like a fairytale princess stepping into a storybook!

Vienna, A City of Grace and Elegance

From the moment I set foot on the cobblestones, the charm of Vienna worked its magic on me. Everywhere I looked, I was surrounded by beautifully-preserved buildings with intricate details - every window, every spire, every statue, a testament to the city's rich history and artistic heritage. I felt like I was on the set of a ballet, with grand staircases and elegant ballrooms waiting to be filled with twirling dancers.

And speaking of ballet, how can I resist mentioning the Vienna State Opera, a legendary house renowned for its extraordinary acoustics and majestic design? It's the crown jewel of Vienna, and I am simply buzzing with excitement to see what they have in store for me this week.

A Tutu-filled Day of Discovery

This morning, I decided to embrace the Viennese spirit and began my exploration with a stroll through the Hofburg Palace, the former imperial residence. I had a glorious time walking through the opulent rooms, imagining the emperors and empresses waltzing through them centuries ago. It was almost as if I was transported back in time!

My next stop was the Schnbrun Palace Gardens. After an hour spent marveling at the sculpted topiary and beautifully-manicured lawns, I was fortunate enough to bump into a friendly local horse drawn carriage driver. A perfect way to round off my morning exploring the city. I, of course, jumped in the opportunity for a delightful, and elegant, carriage ride around this exquisite city. What can I say? Sometimes a girl just has to take a moment to appreciate the finer things in life!

And of course, no visit to Vienna would be complete without a visit to a Tütüladen! My hunt for the perfect tutu is never-ending, you see, and Vienna never disappoints! I managed to unearth an absolutely divine tulle creation, complete with a cascade of soft, shimmering sequins - it will look sensational under the stage lights of the State Opera, I can tell you. It is also delightfully fitting with my current pink tutu trend. This will definitely be featured on the Instagram feed.

A Night Under the Sparkling Stars

The evening is all about the Wiener Staatsoper, a ballet performance at one of the most prestigious houses in the world. You know I can't resist an elegant performance, and the magic of ballet, particularly in Vienna, promises to be a truly unforgettable experience! I already have my tutu ready and the anticipation is building up. This week, I'm feeling inspired by a classic black tulle tutu, with just a touch of sparkling sequins - perfect for a magical night of swirling pirouettes. It is certainly an exquisite blend of classic and modern which I will be highlighting with a bold red lip and a beautifully woven silver hair comb - the whole outfit is truly breathtaking (if I do say so myself).

Don't forget to check back here next week! I will, of course, be reporting back with all the details of the evening's performances, as well as the gorgeousness of Vienna and everything this incredible city has to offer! Until next week, keep dancing and stay stylish!

Lots of love,

Emma

XOXO
