Vienna Calling: Waltz into a World of Pink with Pink Tutu!

Post 1341 - Wednesday 13th January 2021

Dearest readers,

Vienna! What a delightful city to kick off the new year. This Wednesday, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger is settling in to a city steeped in culture, history, and, of course, music! My train journey here was truly magical, whizzing past stunning snowy landscapes with a cup of hot chocolate and a stack of books. It feels like the perfect start to a whirlwind adventure.

This is, after all, the city of waltz, and for a tutu-loving ballet aficionado like myself, it's almost too good to be true! Just imagining the beautiful balls and the grand theatres... I'm already swooning. And just wait until you see my outfits for Vienna! It wouldn't be Pink Tutu if there wasn't a dash of sparkle and plenty of blush-toned fabrics. This week, I'm going for an elegant yet whimsical aesthetic with layers of tulle, bows, and my signature pink. I even brought along a new pair of shoes (in blush, of course!) perfect for twirling under Vienna's sparkling chandeliers.

Speaking of chandeliers, can we talk about Vienna's stunning architecture? Every building, every street, is a symphony of elegance. There are ornate churches, imperial palaces, and cafes fit for a princess (or, let's be honest, a ballerina!) From the moment I stepped off the train, the magic of Vienna has wrapped itself around me like a fluffy cloud of pink tulle.

A Day in the Life: The Viennese Waltz

I kicked off my Vienna experience with a tour of the Vienna State Opera, an architectural masterpiece with history dating back to the 18th century. Just walking into the auditorium with its velvet-lined boxes and opulent decor felt like stepping back in time. I imagined the glittering gowns, the dashing gentlemen, and, of course, the breathtaking waltzes. It felt like something out of a dream, a ballet dream to be exact!

Later, I found myself waltzing around the Hofburg Palace gardens. Don't worry, no one thought I was eccentric; the locals are all about embracing their history, even in a pink tutu. It was such a romantic way to spend the afternoon. I even caught a glimpse of the famous Spanish Riding School. Their horses are said to have more dance moves than a seasoned ballet dancer!

An Ode to All Things Pink and Ballet

Tonight, I'm attending a special ballet performance. You know me, I'm never one to miss a chance to get swept away by a tale of romance, grace, and dancing feet. I'm excited to be watching the story of “Giselle”, a tragic yet romantic tale about love, betrayal, and forgiveness - all told through the expressive movements of ballet. Of course, I’ll be sure to share my experience and the most beautiful tutu-related details on the Pink Tutu website.

You can check out my full Vienna blog next week with loads of pictures and my outfits! I'm already planning to explore more of the city's hidden gems, sample Viennese pastries and maybe even take a carriage ride through the city! I'll also be taking a ballet class in the city - the birthplace of classical ballet! Stay tuned for all the glitz, glamour and twirls from the heart of Vienna!

Until then, stay bright and beautiful, and always remember that a pink tutu can make the world a happier, more delightful place.

Your very own,

Pink Tutu
