Vienna, darling! Ballet, Bow Ties & Bowties 🎀 (Blog Post #1404)

Hello my lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing, Vienna-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger, Emma, and I'm so thrilled to be writing to you from the heart of Austria. This week, I'm feeling particularly inspired, as you know Vienna is basically the epicentre of waltzing and the beautiful waltzing waltz requires a perfect tutu. But before we get carried away with twirling in the Hofburg, let's take a trip down memory lane...

This week marked 2 years since I traded the quaint countryside of Derbyshire for the vibrant city of Vienna. It seems like just yesterday, I was waving goodbye to the rolling green hills, my trusty pink tutu tied around my suitcase. Two years and 1,403 blog posts later, I can confidently say Vienna is now firmly nestled within my heart (along with my collection of antique tutus!).

Pink Power & The Power of Pink

As usual, my pink tutu is enjoying every second of this European adventure. There's nothing more enchanting than catching glimpses of pink amongst the golden tones of Vienna. It's almost like the colour of spring itself. Did you know Vienna is home to an annual "Pink Ribbon" event that's all about supporting breast cancer awareness? What better excuse to wear a tutu, right? Just a small dash of pink can really change the whole vibe, even when you’re exploring those elegant palaces and art galleries.

This week, my latest pink tulle purchase made a spectacular debut. I popped into a gorgeous little boutique near the Hofburg Palace and couldn't resist this incredible soft pink, floor-length, feather boa tutu. Talk about a showstopper! It felt absolutely dreamy paired with my vintage pink velvet jacket and pearl earrings – picture a perfect Viennese fairytale, darling!

On Ballet & Bow Ties: A Love Affair in Vienna

Let’s be real, you can’t visit Vienna without soaking up all things waltz and waltzing. This week was particularly exciting, because the Vienna State Opera was presenting the Sleeping Beauty ballet! Now, let's all admit, ballet and tutus are like a match made in heaven! Watching those graceful ballerinas pirouette in their stunning tutus while listening to the orchestra's beautiful melodies... utter magic! I had to snag a photo in front of the opera house - the building itself is so impressive, it's almost as captivating as the dancing itself!

Speaking of Bow Ties: It's hard to talk about Vienna and ballet without mentioning the Vienna Philharmonic. Now, there's a certain magic to seeing men in tuxedos with perfectly coordinated bow ties. They just ooze class, darling! I swear I have a mini collection of bow ties for my adorable Chihuahua, Chester. We'll be sure to take a photo in our matching pink tutu and bow tie for next week’s blog.

My Train To Tuscany

As always, I love traveling by train! Last week, I jumped on a train bound for Italy. Now, if there’s one thing better than a train journey, it’s a train journey in style, darling! My favourite pink tutu found its perfect place on the window seat. My suitcase had a whole little ballet section in it - you’d think I was packing for the Bolshoi. I’m all about keeping those tutu dreams alive!

Tuscany Tales

Italy is absolutely beautiful! Tuscany has stolen a little piece of my heart, especially Florence. My trusty pink tutu made an appearance at the Ponte Vecchio, it's truly the most enchanting bridge! Imagine yourself strolling over this iconic landmark in your own perfect pink tulle. Florence's romantic charm and art made my journey truly special!

Back in Vienna, Back in Business

But as delightful as Tuscany was, there’s no place like Vienna. Now, I’m back and fully embracing Vienna's sophisticated vibes. There’s just something about this city, the history, the elegance, and yes, the delicious coffee. My favourite little Viennese cafe near the palace serves the best chocolate chip cookies, you HAVE to try them! And guess what? A new ballet show just arrived in town – The Nutcracker, a classic! Of course, I had to go, pink tutu and all. It's the most perfect way to end my week in Vienna. I think this blog entry requires some photos to make you feel like you’re actually here. Enjoy the pics darlings!

The Pink Tutu Wish List

As always, darling, I can’t finish my post without a little shopping spree. What are we wearing for spring? This week’s list is all about pastels and vibrant colours - you can’t go wrong with a pink-hued floral print. Here are my favourite must-haves for your own stylish tutu escapades: * A tutu you can wear all year round. This year, I'm really leaning towards soft pastels in spring. This season I will be wearing my beautiful vintage silk pink tutu. * Pink and red florals are always perfect! I will be taking a vintage look and using bright reds with blush pinks to create a dramatic statement. * Matching heels. The heels are everything to a pink tutu outfit. It is an integral part of the styling. This season we are using hot pink satin shoes and soft blush stilettos. We’ve got it all. * Keep a little black in your style repertoire. * If you are having a pink moment and wanting to add something bold for the evening then black will help give the whole outfit some sophistication. * *Vintage bags. This year vintage bags are a big hit with a real seventies influence!

Until Next Week, My Dearest Dancers! Don’t forget to check out my latest collection on www.pink-tutu.com, where you’ll find everything you need to channel your inner ballerina. See you next Wednesday, lovelies, where I’ll be sharing the most decadent afternoon tea in Vienna (I already have my pink tutu chosen!)
