Pink Tutu Vienna: Ballet-ing My Way Through The City Of Dreams (Post #1403)

Hello, darling darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Vienna post! đŸ©° This week, I've been twirling through the enchanting city of Vienna, and oh, it's been absolutely divine!

As you know, I'm always on the lookout for beautiful places to inspire my dancing, and Vienna has certainly not disappointed. The stunning architecture, the cobblestone streets, the rich history - it's like a fairytale! I even managed to sneak a ballet class in amongst all the sightseeing, and it was pure magic, especially when I spied a gorgeous pink tutu tucked away in the corner of the studio - quelle surprise!

Vienna Waltz:

This week, I'm channeling the graceful spirit of the Viennese waltz, a dance that practically defines the city's elegant soul. Did you know that the waltz originated right here in Vienna in the late 18th century? It's incredible to think that this city is where it all began, and its legacy is still very much alive in the waltz's intricate steps and graceful movement. I was mesmerized by the Vienna State Opera, where I saw a phenomenal performance of Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier.

Ballet Inspiration Everywhere:

Everywhere you look in Vienna, there’s inspiration for the ballet dancer in me! From the beautiful grand boulevards and grand, ornate architecture, to the elegant cafĂ©s with their beautiful marble countertops, the city exudes a sense of timeless grace and beauty that truly resonates with my ballerina soul.

The Hofburg Palace, the seat of power for centuries, has the grandeur and elegance of a beautiful ballet stage. I was lost in awe, wondering what stories the old stone walls had to tell!

Vienna’s museums, like the Museum of Art History, with its exquisite paintings and sculptures, offer such incredible opportunities for creative inspiration! Standing in the middle of the gallery, I envisioned myself as a ballet dancer in a dramatic story unfolding in a grand art masterpiece. I've always loved the art of the storyteller in dance, and the museums here have definitely been my muse this week!

Train Adventures and Tutu Delights:

Now, before we go any further, I need to confess
you know my love for all things pink, and Vienna's charm knows no bounds. But even for this die-hard pink aficionado, the lure of the “Wien Mitte” train station, is oh so tempting. Every week, it’s been a thrill for me to arrive by train. It’s like stepping back into another era of elegance. I swear, I think I hear the tinkle of a music box somewhere amidst the elegant grand archway leading into the station. It’s almost magical.

For this week’s tutus, I've brought my trusty vintage, pink and blush collection with me, inspired by the enchanting hues of a Viennese sunset, a true fairytale setting! The most fabulous thing I have found here in Vienna are these glorious tutus with these fabulous embroidered tulle frills in pink and gold - a true testament to the Austrian love for detail and craftsmanship.

Horseback Riding in Schönbrunn:

But what is a trip to Vienna without a horse-drawn carriage ride, wouldn't you agree? My latest adventure, a thrilling gallop through the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens, was pure magic! I practically imagined myself as one of the princesses in the beautiful imperial gardens of Schönbrunn, whirling around in the embrace of my horse, with Vienna's grandeur sprawling in the distance. The carriage journey was definitely the highlight of my week, an ode to a slower, more luxurious pace, reminiscent of a classic ballerina's performance. A pink tutu seemed like the only sensible choice!

Delicious Dining Delights:

Now, let's talk about food. You simply must try the "Sachertorte," a chocolate masterpiece - an absolute must-have when you are in Vienna! You'll find some incredible patisseries serving the most scrumptious treats all around. Vienna’s culinary scene is full of delight. From classic cafes with Sachertorte and apricot strudel, to glorious pastries and decadent chocolate - it’s every gourmand's dream.

I do enjoy an espresso from time to time, to give me a little pep in my step, but my afternoon tea at the Hotel Sacher, was truly extraordinary, an indulgent affair with endless layers of exquisitely decorated treats, accompanied by sparkling Austrian wine, accompanied by the clinking of porcelain cups, and the clattering of silverware – a perfect Viennese Waltz of food and fashion. You wouldn't catch me at a ballet rehearsal without a delicious "sachertorte," and for you darlings out there who follow the blog, you know my favorite dance outfit is a beautiful pink tutu, so of course I was wearing my favorite shade of pink whilst indulging in this Vienna culinary dream!

Where to find Pink TutĂșs in Vienna:

Let's get back to our obsession! Where do you think you might find those fabulous, frilly, and absolutely beautiful tutus? I just discovered the most fabulous, and elegant tutu shop tucked away near the “Rathaus”. It's been my latest and greatest discovery in Vienna, “Der Tutu Shop”. It’s just bursting with gorgeous, pink, beautiful tutu designs and colours - just everything I'd ever want for my next stage show or for my latest blog post!

Final Waltz

Vienna, oh Vienna, you have my heart! With your waltzing melodies and your tutu-filled shops, your stunning architecture, your magnificent ballet performances and your delicious Sachertorte, you've enchanted my very soul! Until next week, my darlings!
