Vienna Calling: Tutu-tastic Times in the City of Music (Post #1425)

Wednesday 24th August, 2022

Guten Tag, my lovelies! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, beaming to you from the heart of Vienna! Oh, Vienna, you are such a romantic city, steeped in history, culture, and, dare I say, a touch of the magical! I'm writing to you from a charming little cafƩ on a cobblestone street, sipping on the most delicious iced latte and gazing out at the horse-drawn carriages clip-clopping by. How very Austrian!

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a brand new post on the pink-tutu.com website - the place to be for all things tutu-tastic, glamorous, and wonderfully pink! Today's adventure, you ask? Why, itā€™s all about my incredible journey to Vienna, my latest and greatest inspiration for tutu fashion and life!

The Pink Tutu Journey Begins... by Train!

I've always been a bit of a train enthusiast, you know, something about the gentle rhythm of the tracks and the ever-changing landscape that whispers stories of faraway lands and exciting possibilities. And it seems that Vienna was calling to me! So, last Friday I packed my signature pink suitcase with my trusty pink tutu (how else to travel in style, right?!) and hopped onto a shiny, sleek, Eurostar train from London - it even had pink lighting inside, you'd have loved it!

Vienna Calling: From Railway Station to The Opera

And here I am, having spent the weekend soaking up everything this amazing city has to offer! We're talking ballet shows that sent shivers down my spine, breathtakingly beautiful architecture, and an afternoon spent indulging in a little shopping therapy in the heart of the city ā€“ Vienna definitely knows how to make a girl happy!

Oh, did I tell you about the ballet shows I saw? Vienna State Opera - an absolute treat for the senses! There were feathers and glittering jewels on stage, intricate costumes, and a cast of incredible dancers performing their hearts out, a real treat for my eyes. Seeing the energy and beauty that shines through a ballet performance ā€“ it just fills me with joy. Speaking of joyā€¦ don't even get me started on the glorious tutus! There were so many exquisite ones, from classic fluffy ones with delicate tulle, to those beautifully sculpted pieces that captured the drama of each piece.

More than just Ballerinas: Viennaā€™s Ballet History

I did a little exploring into the rich history of the Vienna Ballet. Did you know that Viennaā€™s State Ballet traces its roots back to 1776? Now thatā€™s dedication to the art of dance! They have even had an opera house called ā€œThe Imperial and Royal Court Operaā€. I felt like I'd stepped right into the glamorous era of royal courts! It makes me want to add an air of regal elegance to my own tutus, donā€™t you think? Perhaps a tiara with my next tutu ensemble!

Vienna: My Pink Tutu Inspiration!

Of course, my little pink tutu-clad self couldn't resist a little shopping spree. You know Iā€™m always on the hunt for the perfect shade of pink for my collection! Vienna had some hidden gems, a little shop in the heart of the city, tucked away amongst cobblestone streets ā€“ its shelves filled with every imaginable shade of pink. Imagine - a pink paradise for a tutu-obsessed girl! I stocked up on some delightful, delicate fabrics in pinks and ivory, and letā€™s just say, you'll see some spectacular, blush-toned outfits popping up on the blog very soon.

Pink Tutu Fun Facts!

Speaking of tutusā€¦ here's a fun fact to share. Did you know that tutus have been around for ages? Way back in the 1830s, a tutu - a little something that looked a bit like a frilly ballet skirt, was created by Marie Taglioni for a production of the ballet La Sylphide - oh my, just think how much of the fashion world theyā€™ve inspired. They have had such an exciting journey. And, they look amazing when youā€™re doing twirls.

A Bit of Parisian Inspiration

To my great joy, this whole trip had an elegant touch, like a waltz to a melody only Vienna could compose. My hotel was exquisite! The decor, oh the decorā€¦ think blush pinks and creams, antique-inspired furniture, a delightful chandelier, and - you guessed it! - an extravagant chandelier. A touch of old Hollywood glam, perhaps, or a hint of Belle Ɖpoque Paris with the gorgeous gilded frames, decadent wallpaper and sparkly details everywhere. You just had to see it!

More Than a Pink Tutu: An Inspiring Travel Adventure

It's not just the beauty of the city that keeps me enthralled - it's the essence of Viennese charm that spills over into the everyday life, a graceful energy that reminds me of a soft, gentle waltz.

Iā€™m already making plans for my next tutu-tastic trip to Vienna. Who knows, I might even bring my little tutu ensemble with me! What better way to blend in with a city so vibrant and inspiring?

Well, darlings, I'm off for a spot of sightseeing and a stroll through a stunning park. Iā€™m dreaming of twirling in the heart of this fabulous city! Remember, don't forget to check back every Wednesday for a new Pink Tutu blog! Itā€™s my absolute pleasure sharing my adventures with you - until next time, keep the tutus flowing, the smiles bright and live your life like a beautiful, graceful waltz.

Lots of love and tutu kisses,

Emma xxx
