Vienna, My Love! (Post #1485)
Hello my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Vienna adventure! This week I've been dancing my way through the beautiful city of Vienna, and it's been absolutely enchanting. From elegant waltzes in the grand ballrooms to twirling beneath the grand chandeliers in the Vienna State Opera House, my tutu and I have been living the dream.
As you know, I'm a girl who loves a good train journey. So naturally, I made my way to Vienna via the iconic Orient Express. Imagine me, gliding through the countryside, pink tutu flowing behind me, my smile as wide as the Austrian Alps. Such a quintessential journey!
Once I arrived in Vienna, I felt an immediate connection to its romantic spirit. And how could I resist an afternoon exploring the Hofburg Palace, the former imperial residence of the Habsburgs? I swear, I could practically hear the whispers of Empress Sisi walking the halls. Speaking of history, did you know that Vienna played a huge part in the development of ballet? It was in the 18th century that Vienna truly embraced the art of ballet, becoming a prominent centre of innovation and performance. From Mozart's elegant dances in his operas to the development of the "Wiener Walzer" (Viennese waltz), the city was brimming with creativity and artistic expression.
Now, my dear readers, you know I can't go anywhere without exploring the local fashion scene! Vienna's shops are brimming with unique pieces and charming boutiques. I even found the most darling pink beret to add to my collection! Don't worry, I'll be sure to showcase my new hat in a later post!
This weekend, I'm off to see "Swan Lake" at the Vienna State Opera House. Can you believe it?! I'm so excited! This iconic ballet is one of my favourites and I can't wait to experience its grandeur in the city where it was first performed. To add a touch of excitement, I'm going to be performing a special pink-tutu-themed dance flash mob on the steps of the Opera House! Stay tuned for photos and a video!
In the meantime, I'm spending my days exploring the city’s many magnificent parks. My favourite so far is the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens! It’s absolutely stunning! The beautifully sculpted hedges, blooming flowers, and grand fountains make for the most idyllic backdrop for twirling in my tutu.
The best part of all? I found a stable near my hotel that offers horseback riding tours through the vineyards. Can you picture me galloping through the rolling green hills on horseback? It's like a fairytale! I know it’s an unusual way to travel but I’m such a horse-lover! My mum used to own horses when I was younger. And in case you haven’t already guessed it, my favourite way to get to a ballet class is always by riding my little pony, Daisy, up to the stables. Daisy has a fantastic pink saddle cloth too, as I think everything should be pink, my lovelies. And if I wasn’t a ballet dancer, my dream would be to be an equestrian!
My dearest pink tutu lovers, Vienna has truly stolen a piece of my heart. The beauty, the history, the elegance – it all resonates so deeply with my soul. And to be honest, a good dollop of pink, added in for good measure, would just complete this picture! 😉
But wait, there’s more! There's nothing I love more than sharing my passion with you. And what's more charming than Vienna, home to one of the most important classical music heritage in the world? This Saturday, the city's biggest classical music festival is taking place, right here on the Ringstrasse – a grand boulevard where all the important institutions and historical buildings are located, including Vienna State Opera. So, in this gorgeous, pink-loving town, let's all sing, dance and enjoy our shared passion for life and its exquisite details!
See you next week for more exciting Vienna adventures! Until then, remember – embrace the pink, dance your heart out, and always keep your dreams tutu-ly fabulous! 💕
