Vienna, Oh Vienna! 🩰🌸💖 Post #1498

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind of a trip to Vienna, the city that whispers of waltzes and coffee houses, emperors and waltzing princesses, and, yes, even pink tutus! I'm so thrilled to share this latest adventure with you, because Austria just tickles my fancy. It's like a fairytale land that has somehow morphed into a haven for fashionistas, history buffs, and ballet enthusiasts like myself.

You know, I actually got here by train. It's a bit of a trek, especially from Derbyshire where I call home, but the views along the way are breathtaking. And there’s just something about the rhythmic clicking of wheels on rails and the gentle rocking of the carriage that stirs a sense of pure joy within me, much like twirling in a brand new tutu.

Speaking of which, darling, my new tutu arrived just in time for Vienna. You know, the pink tulle, of course, with delicate lace trims and a matching headband. I may be a little biased, but I believe I pulled it off! 😉 I'm starting to think that the whole 'Pink Tutu Princess' persona is growing on people. Every performance I do – whether in a charming little theatre back home or a bustling ballet studio here in Vienna – people love to see a splash of pink! It just puts a smile on everyone’s faces.

And Vienna, oh darling, Vienna! This city is an absolute treasure trove of historical and cultural wonders. From the iconic Schönbrunn Palace – a grand affair fit for an Empress - to the beautiful Vienna State Opera House, the city oozes glamour and grandeur.

And what’s even better? I saw a phenomenal ballet performance at the Vienna State Opera! I don't want to spoil anything, but the dancing was magnificent, the costumes exquisite, and the story… a poignant tale of love and loss that captivated every single soul in the audience. Honestly, darling, it made me cry. In the best possible way, of course! It reminded me why I dance and why I do what I do.

The opera house itself, oh my, is something out of a dream. The ornate décor, the plush red velvet seats, the dramatic chandeliers... It was as if I stepped right into a grand stage production myself! The energy here in Vienna was simply electrifying. And just think, a few months ago, I was performing in my little Derbyshire studio, feeling rather cozy in my pink tutu, while here I am, seeing something absolutely extraordinary, feeling just a little bit extraordinary myself!

Here are some fun things I did in Vienna:

  • A trip to the Schönbrunn Palace: Walking those magnificent hallways, imagining the royal lives lived within their walls, made me feel like I was a part of the past.

  • A Viennese coffee ritual at Café Central: I admit, the Viennese take their coffee seriously, darling. There's a whole etiquette, a whole ceremony involved! It's such a beautiful experience, almost ritualistic. Of course, I wouldn't go without a delicious, intricately designed piece of cake. It's the perfect way to fuel the Pink Tutu Princess for the rest of the day!

  • An evening at the Vienna State Opera House: That's right, a full-on ballet experience with the crème de la crème of Vienna’s performing arts! This night was one for the books, and one that’ll make my Derbyshire performances a bit more special!

  • Exploring the Belvedere Palace and its Art Gallery: Imagine the splendor! I was captivated by the masterpieces, from the captivatingly decadent 'The Kiss' by Gustav Klimt, to the awe-inspiring 'Judith and Holofernes' by Artemisia Gentileschi. The detail was stunning. I truly wish I could have taken each of these amazing paintings back with me to Derbyshire!

Shopping Adventures

Vienna, darling, is a shopping paradise. From the vintage boutiques brimming with elegant Parisian and London designs, to the charming independent shops overflowing with local handicrafts and delicate floral fabrics... oh my! My feet hurt, but my soul felt refreshed! I found an incredible collection of ballet-themed souvenirs for the Pink Tutu Princess fans back home, as well as a collection of dainty, elegant ballet flats that I just had to have. And yes, I managed to squeeze in a couple of pink tutus, too, for those impromptu dances under the chandeliers in my Derbyshire living room!

Tutu Trends in Vienna

I've got to say, Vienna embraces the whimsy! My trusty pink tutu drew many smiles and raised eyebrows along the way, but the Viennese seem to love a dash of theatrical fashion! There was this delightful group of students strutting through the city centre – some in full steampunk attire, others with colourful boas, but each one with an incredible passion for self-expression. Theirs was a visual feast of fashion!

Lessons Learned

Vienna has not only been a whirlwind of dance and fashion, it's also been a chance to reflect. You know, to embrace my pink tutu dreams, to soak up all the beauty and grace this city has to offer, and to remind myself why I do this – to inspire, to connect, and, of course, to spread the pink tutu love around the world!

And speaking of spreading pink tutu love... Here is my Vienna challenge for you! For this week's Pink Tutu Project, darling, why not put on your favorite pink outfit – whether it's a scarf, a hat, a skirt, a full tutu, or simply a flash of pink lipstick. It can be a single pop of colour, a subtle nod to the Pink Tutu Princess. Embrace the beauty of expression, and the power of a simple splash of pink to make the world a little more joyous. And don't forget, take a photo and share it with us at PinkTutu.com, tagging #PinkTutuProject and sharing your Vienna inspiration! We're building a community of fun and fashionable folk, all with a dash of pink sprinkled into our hearts!

Until next Wednesday, stay sparkly, and keep on dancing!

Love, Emma
