Vienna: Waltz into Wonder! 🩰✨

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, and I'm so excited to be writing to you from the glorious city of Vienna! This is post number 1506 (can you believe it?!) and as usual, I'm here to share all the pink and twirling delights that this magical city has offered up. 💖

Travel in Style: A Railway Romance

As always, my journey to Vienna was as glamorous as possible. I opted for a train journey, because nothing beats gazing out of the window, watching the countryside whizz by. And, let's be honest, a train journey allows for maximum outfit changes! I opted for my cherry blossom pink tutu, layered over a billowing, white chiffon blouse, with a jaunty, pink felt beret perched on my head. Of course, the cherry on top was my trusty pair of pink suede boots - just the thing for an adventurous walk through the Austrian countryside!

The Grand Arrival

When I finally arrived in Vienna, the first thing that greeted me was the most beautiful view! Vienna's skyline, with the spires of St. Stephen's Cathedral and the grand Hofburg Palace rising up towards the sky, just took my breath away. The city itself seemed to pulse with history and romance - every cobblestone street felt like a secret waiting to be uncovered!

My Vienna Diary: A Week in Pink

Here's a little peek into my whirlwind Vienna week, filled with pink perfection, twirling joy, and the most beautiful ballet:

Monday: A Fashion Frenzy at "Die Schnitte"

Monday always has to be for fashion! So, I headed straight for the most fabulous department store I could find - "Die Schnitte," which had everything a girl could dream of. Their ballet section was heavenly – they had so many beautiful tutus! It was like stepping into a pink wonderland. I managed to snag a pair of stunning lavender ballet shoes and a sparkly pink "Tutu de Soirée" - absolutely perfect for the shows I planned to attend. ✨

Tuesday: Waltz into History at the Schönbrunn Palace

Today was all about soaking up the culture and the beauty of this glorious city. My visit to Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was a highlight. It was stunning, with lavish rooms, intricate gardens, and the cutest little deer enclosure. It was like being transported back in time to the days of emperors and empresses. I imagine their beautiful daughters swirling in tutus through the grand halls! Of course, I twirled my way through the palace, taking full advantage of its opulent spaces for some incredible Instagram shots. 😜

Wednesday: Ballet Bliss at the Vienna State Opera

Vienna, my dear readers, is a ballet lover's paradise! This evening, I saw "The Sleeping Beauty," performed at the renowned Vienna State Opera. Oh, it was absolutely divine! The stage was like a dream world with lavish sets, gorgeous costumes, and of course, exceptional dancers who seemed to float across the stage. It reminded me why I fell in love with ballet – the artistry, the passion, the storytelling! I couldn't help but get swept away by the romance of it all, and felt like I'd stepped into a fairy tale myself! 👑

Thursday: Horse-Powered Elegance at the Lipizzaner Stallions Show

My obsession with the grace of horses led me to the Spanish Riding School, where I watched the renowned Lipizzaner Stallions perform. The air thrummed with excitement as these magnificent creatures pirouetted, pranced, and danced with a grace and precision that had me completely spellbound! And then there was the colour of their coats! A pristine, beautiful white. Pure perfection, just like a pristine, brand new pink tutu!

Friday: Viennese Café Culture and a Romantic Evening

No trip to Vienna is complete without experiencing its iconic café culture! So, I indulged in a delicious slice of Sachertorte, a Vienna speciality, at one of the oldest and most charming cafés in the city. In the evening, I strolled through the beautiful streets of Vienna. The atmosphere was magical with a hint of romance in the air, I almost expected a handsome prince to ask me to dance!

Saturday: Ballet Fun for Everyone!

This Saturday was all about the joy of dance. I discovered a beautiful studio offering a free open class, and I couldn't resist. I danced with local students, sharing laughter and pirouettes! It was such a great way to experience the local ballet scene and meet other dance lovers. And yes, I encouraged them all to try a pink tutu or two!

Sunday: A Day at the Museum of Art History

Of course, a trip to Vienna is never complete without a visit to the beautiful Museum of Art History. This magnificent building houses an incredible collection of masterpieces from all over the world. I especially loved the works of Rubens and Rembrandt. It was a beautiful way to spend my final day in this lovely city.

Leaving Vienna With a Pink-Tinted Heart

And there you have it! Vienna has stolen my heart once again! It's a city of elegance, history, and magic. From its majestic palaces to its enchanting cafes, it was an unforgettable journey filled with pink delights and breathtaking ballet. I've added so many more pink outfits to my wardrobe thanks to the exquisite fashion scene in Vienna. If you are reading this from a small village or town, then try to escape to the big city sometimes, I encourage you, for the excitement it offers is unique! I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful, ballet-filled week! And as always, don't forget to twirl, darling!

Until next Wednesday!

Lots of love and pink twirls,

Emma x
