Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 1536 ā A Waltz of Wonder in Vienna!
Hello darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away to the enchanting city of Vienna, a symphony of beauty, culture andā¦tutus! š©° Yes, you heard that right. Pink Tutu is waltzing its way across Europe, and Vienna has been calling to my tutu-loving heart for ages.
Every Wednesday, you know I'm ready to whisk you away with a fresh blog post on www.pink-tutu.com, packed full of all things pink, tutus and travelling. This week, Iām spilling the secrets of my Viennese escapade ā and believe me, thereās so much to tell!
A Pink Tutu's Journey: From Derbyshire to Vienna
I packed my bags (stuffed with an array of the most beautiful tutus, naturally!) and boarded the train from my beloved Derbyshire. Oh, the romance of a European train journey! Sipping on hot chocolate and watching the world whizz by. It's so much more elegant and atmospheric than flying, wouldnāt you say?
Arriving in Vienna, I was instantly struck by its fairytale charm. Imagine cobbled streets lined with magnificent palaces and churches, the scent of fresh bread and pastries wafting through the air. And then there are the horses! A Viennese carriage ride was the perfect way to arrive at my hotel, my tutu twirling in the gentle breeze.
Vienna's Ballet Beat
As a true ballet enthusiast, Vienna was already on my tutu-to-do list. This city pulsates with a rich dance history, a fact I was thrilled to explore. First up, a performance at the iconic Vienna State Opera, a breath-taking experience that transported me back in time. Imagine the grandeur, the shimmering costumes, the soaring musicā¦ it was pure magic.
My tutu twirled with excitement as I attended the ballet class at the Vienna State Ballet school, where the next generation of ballet stars are being trained. The grace and dedication of these young dancers was inspiring, and they definitely gave my pink tutu a run for its money in the technique department!
Fashion Finds & Whimsical Wonders
Vienna is a shopping paradise, especially for someone like me with a penchant for all things frilly, pretty and, of course, pink! The streets were bursting with exquisite boutiques showcasing elegant clothing and beautiful accessories. I indulged in some fabulous tulle finds, perfect for twirling around the city, naturally! I also treated myself to some traditional Austrian clothing, a beautiful embroidered Dirndl that is destined to become my newest pink tutu-themed outfit!
Vienna is overflowing with magnificent museums and historical treasures. I visited Schƶnbrunn Palace, the Habsburg summer residence, where I explored its lavish gardens and felt like Iād stepped right into a classic fairytale. I marveled at the opulent interiors of the Hofburg Palace, where emperors and empresses once resided, and soaked up the history of the city at the Museum of Art History, filled with stunning works by masters like Raphael and Michelangelo.
Tutus & Treats
No trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in some delicious treats. I savoured delectable Sachertorte at the original Sacher Hotel (my favourite flavour: chocolate!), and enjoyed coffee and pastries at one of the charming cafĆ©s, a Viennese tradition I wholeheartedly embraced. My absolute favourite cafĆ© discovery was a hidden gem called āPink Paradiseā. A little haven for tutu lovers! (Or at least it felt like it.) Their signature "Pink Roseā cake was so delicious ā even better with a sprinkle of pink glitter on top, just the way I like it.
