But, alas, my schedule's crammed with performances back in dear old Derbyshire. This week, I'm just your humble pink-tutu-wearing tour guide, bringing the wonder of Vienna right to you, complete with ballet, fashion, and a generous sprinkling of pink, of course!

A Train Journey Steeped in History
This trip wouldn’t be complete without the traditional Pink Tutu Vienna train adventure. This time, my journey was as elegant as a pirouette! We whizzed through the stunning Austrian countryside, passing charming villages and majestic mountains, leaving a trail of pink tutu magic in my wake. I had a window seat (it's all about the views, darlings) and used my time to catch up on my ballet reading. Let me tell you, the history of the tutu is far more dramatic than any plot you'll find in a ballet – corsets, scandals, and a dash of revolutionary innovation, just like a performance in the heart of Vienna.
Vienna, Vienna, Vienna – A Symphony of Style
My first order of business upon arriving in Vienna, you guessed it – a trip to the shops! It would be rude not to, wouldn't it? Vienna is a treasure trove of chic boutiques and vintage shops, a sartorial paradise. From elegant Austrian designers to delightful little independent shops bursting with treasures, it was a whirl of creativity and, naturally, I picked up some stunning pink pieces – a delicate lace top, a playful tutu-inspired skirt, and a beautiful, sparkly, vintage brooch. The pink was so on-point, darlings!
A Waltz of Cultural Delights
Now, you can't come to Vienna and not take in some of its amazing culture. So, off I went, twirling my way into the glorious Vienna State Opera. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece, with the most decadent gilded detailing! I saw the Don Giovanni ballet – a masterpiece of dramatic dance! The costumes, the choreography, and the sheer emotional impact left me speechless. I just can't recommend seeing a performance there enough.
And For This Week’s Cultural Fix?
Today, we're going back in time to the 18th century, with the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace. I plan to stroll the beautifully manicured gardens, picture myself as a graceful court ballerina, perhaps even in a historically accurate, very pink, tutu! From Tutu to Carriage: A Horse-Drawn Adventure
For a true Vienna experience, what better than a ride through the city in a traditional Fiaker? A carriage pulled by majestic, elegant horses? Yes please! My tutu felt incredibly appropriate, floating amidst the charming old-world streets, my pink a dazzling contrast against the warm colours of Vienna. The horses were absolutely majestic, and, in their gentle, powerful way, almost ballerina-esque in their movement!
Finding Beauty In Every Moment
Vienna is a city that embraces art, culture, and fashion, which I love dearly. Even the most mundane aspects of the city feel beautiful; the intricate mosaics, the flower-filled gardens, even the humble cobblestone streets – I feel like I'm constantly discovering something new and exciting. The city pulses with energy and a sense of history, yet remains forward-thinking, stylish, and vibrant – much like a beautiful pink tutu.
