Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 1627 - A Waltz through Vienna, Dearest Darlings!

It's Wednesday, and that means a fresh Pink Tutu Vienna post has pirouetted onto the page! As you all know, every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com, I whisk you off on a delightful journey through the world with a sprinkle of pink tulle and a dash of ballerina magic. This week, I'm twirling in Vienna, Austria, a city that is pure waltzing, coffee and charming history – and naturally, a pink tutu was absolutely mandatory!

This city has been on my "Pink Tutu Must-Visit" list for ages, and it's lived up to every delicious expectation. The very air vibrates with a romantic waltz that takes you back in time. I was particularly mesmerised by the Schönbrunn Palace. It's magnificent! You could wander its gilded halls for hours, losing yourself in the opulence and grandeur of a bygone era. But even better? They had a gorgeous rose garden in full bloom, with rows and rows of the most breathtaking pink roses – perfect for my signature pink tutu shots, of course!

Vienna, much like a delicious cake, is best savoured in layers. On day one, I took a carriage ride through the heart of the city, a perfectly romantic way to take in the imperial charm and stunning architecture. We trotted through the Ringstraße, the famous boulevard built by the Habsburgs, past grand museums and palaces, each a jewel in the city’s crown. It felt like a fairytale!

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without experiencing the iconic Vienna State Opera. The building itself is a masterpiece, all elegant columns and grand arches. Inside, the atmosphere was electric – the kind of anticipation you only get at a special occasion. It’s an experience I won’t ever forget! The performance was breathtaking, the costumes glittering under the dazzling chandeliers, the music stirring the soul.

Fashion Flashes & Tutu Tales:

I adore the way Vienna blends historical charm with modern flair. My travels always include shopping escapades, and Vienna didn’t disappoint. I snagged a couple of exquisite vintage hats that have already found a place in my tutu wardrobe, perfect for adding a dash of Viennese elegance to my outfits. You know I always keep an eye out for the most fabulous accessories!

For the opera, I chose my 'Moonlight Waltz' tutu, a romantic creation of delicate, iridescent tulle that caught the lights like a thousand stars. I paired it with a simple, elegant black top, allowing the tutu to be the showstopper – but I always find a touch of pink essential, and my favourite vintage pink brooch nestled perfectly beside my heart.

Of course, a trip like this wouldn’t be complete without indulging in the Viennese love for sweets! Sacher-Torte? Check! Apfelstrudel? Absolutely! You might think these indulgent treats wouldn’t be pink-tutu friendly, but a healthy dose of my signature “Pink Sprinkles” is all it takes to turn any dessert into a sparkling, whimsical confection!

* Ballet Beginnings and Ballerina Bliss*

My passion for ballet is, as you know, at the heart of my “Pink Tutu” travels. Vienna, known for its long-standing tradition of ballet, provided the perfect setting to explore the historical connections between the city and the graceful art form.

Vienna’s Staatsoper, or State Opera, has been a haven for ballet for centuries. This prestigious venue has hosted the world’s finest ballet stars. From the days of Empress Maria Theresa and her court, ballet has been a cherished art form in Vienna, with a deeply embedded history in its very soul. The city is infused with ballet in so many ways.

Just thinking about Vienna makes me feel inspired to practice! So, this week I’m dedicating my classes to the Waltz. Vienna’s iconic dance – a graceful swirl of romance and movement – is perfect for bringing out the feminine magic of ballet. You're all invited to join me! Vienna: A Heartwarming Conclusion

As the sun set over Vienna, painting the sky in hues of rose and amber, I realised that the true charm of this city lies not only in its breathtaking beauty and rich history, but in its gentle, warm, welcoming heart. It's a city that embraces life with an air of grace and refinement, where even a Pink Tutu-wearing ballerina from Derbyshire feels embraced and appreciated.

So, as I leave this charming city and say a “Auf Wiedersehen” to Vienna, I leave with a promise: I’ll be back. The call of the waltz and the lure of those beautiful pink roses will soon have me waltzing back into the city's loving embrace.

But until then, keep twirling and shining your inner pink! See you next Wednesday for a fresh adventure.

Much love and graceful twirls, Emma xx
