Hello, my darling Tutu Twirlers! It's Wednesday again, and that means a new Pink Tutu adventure is waiting to be unveiled! This week, I'm writing from the heart of Vienna, Austria. Oh my, Vienna, Vienna, Vienna... such a magical city!
Last Wednesday, I arrived by train - I do love a good train journey! It was such a stunning ride through the Austrian countryside, filled with rolling green hills and quaint villages that just begged to be explored. I arrived in Vienna in the afternoon, and immediately I knew I was in for a real treat. The air was alive with the music of a street orchestra, the cobbled streets buzzed with activity, and the beautiful architecture left me breathless.
It feels like this city was made for twirling! I am already smitten with Vienna and its elegance, it's an incredible mix of historical grandeur and vibrant modern life. It really makes you feel like you've stepped back into a waltzing dream!
But let's get back to the tutu! My favourite thing about travelling to a new city is discovering the hidden treasures. Imagine my delight when I found this quaint boutique in a cobbled courtyard just off the Ringstrasse, brimming with the most fabulous ballet-inspired fashion!
I had to, of course, pick myself up a brand new tutu, in the most luscious shade of rose pink imaginable. You see, my dears, every new adventure requires a new tutu - it’s simply a rule of my Pink Tutu travel code! And with the perfect Parisian touch - it’s actually embellished with a little gold feather on the front. I have a feeling I’ll be twirling this one around Vienna for the rest of my stay.
Speaking of twirling, you all know I am a huge fan of anything ballet-related! This city, of course, has a legendary ballet scene, a history of the most breathtaking ballets, and I was determined to immerse myself in its graceful allure. This week I’m off to see "Giselle," at the Vienna State Opera House! Can you imagine? One of the most famous ballets of all time, and I'm going to see it performed in the home of the waltz! I am beyond excited - the perfect Parisian ballet performance.
But Vienna is not just about classical ballet, it also boasts a bustling contemporary scene! I found an adorable street performance in the heart of the city that featured three amazing ballerinas, telling a charming and witty story in nothing but their moves. Their graceful pirouettes and expressive storytelling completely captivated me.
This trip has given me so many wonderful new tutu inspirations. From elegant cafes with intricate pastries, to grand gardens bursting with vibrant flowers. Even the colours of the trams are giving me ideas. You just have to look around and find those splashes of inspiration in unexpected places, even in something as simple as a pink streetlight!
I am already planning my next few days here. There’s so much more I want to see. Vienna’s grand palaces and museums call to me, the delicious aromas from traditional Austrian bakeries lure me in, and there’s just something magical about getting lost in the vibrant city streets.
And you can be sure that my trusty camera and I will be capturing all the moments of this whimsical adventure. So stay tuned, darlings, as I continue my Vienna escapade. There will be more tutus, more waltzes, more delectable pastries, and more Pink Tutu magic, all in the vibrant tapestry of this enchanting city!
