#PinkTutuVienna - A Ballet Bonanza in the City of Music! (Post #1640)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a fresh #PinkTutuVienna blog post! This week, I've found myself utterly enchanted by Vienna, a city overflowing with waltzes, Strauss, and... of course, my beloved ballet! ?

Oh, how I love this city! There's something truly magical about the grand architecture, the buzzing coffee houses, and the constant hum of culture in the air. You can practically feel the history swirling around you, making it the perfect place to indulge my passion for all things ballet, fashion, and fabulousness!

A Tutu Tour Through Time

This week, I’ve been indulging my inner history buff, diving into the rich history of Viennese ballet. I had to visit the glorious Vienna State Opera, a grand building steeped in history and considered one of the world's most prestigious opera houses. The acoustics are just incredible, and you can practically feel the ghost of waltzes past as you wander its hallowed halls.

One of my absolute highlights was stepping into the "Hofburg Palace". This imperial residence once held court to some of the most famous names in European history, and believe me, the palace holds a truly fascinating connection to the history of ballet. Just imagining the opulent balls and courtly dances that must have been held here sent shivers down my spine.

I also had to check out the Ballet History Museum, housed in the lovely Kunsthistorisches Museum. This museum houses a dazzling collection of ballet costumes, posters, and artifacts. Did you know that Vienna has a long and illustrious tradition of ballet? The Viennese Waltz played a pivotal role in its development! It wasn't just a ballroom craze; it's a movement, an expression, a true force of nature – much like a tutu twirling across the stage. ?

A Dancer's Dream Come True

And speaking of the stage, I had to experience the thrill of a live performance. My eyes lit up like Christmas tree bulbs when I spotted an incredible performance by the Vienna State Ballet! A night of ethereal grace and artistic mastery that made me utterly speechless. The costumes were magnificent, the dancing, divine, and the sheer beauty of it all... I was transported! I spent the following day, utterly buzzing from the performance, trying to translate those graceful moves onto my own tired limbs! My dear, I was waltzing down the streets of Vienna in my best attempt at elegant balletic strut, much to the amusement of the locals!

Of course, no ballet experience is complete without a touch of shopping therapy. My afternoon tea included a much-needed pitstop at a charming vintage boutique where I found a delightful tutu. It’s a perfect blush pink, the colour of a blossoming cherry blossom in the springtime – delicate, pretty, and a delightful shade for my tutu collection! Oh, it even boasts a hint of a sparkle to catch the eye! As for me, a visit to a tea salon is non-negotiable. A perfect excuse to indulge in some Viennese delicacies and dream of dancing under a Viennese sky!

Train Travel & Equestrian Escapades

After a whirlwind of ballet and fashion in Vienna, I boarded the Vienna to Salzburg express, feeling quite like a Victorian traveler with a dash of ballerina flair! (My trusty pink tutu suitcase, of course, took up a little extra luggage space!) I love traveling by train! It’s so much more civilised, allowing for views of the enchanting Austrian countryside as we zoomed along. Not to mention, I find it much more relaxed, giving me time to read a book, sip tea, and do some sketching in my journal – it’s the perfect place for a dreamer’s imagination to soar. I often feel a connection to the past when travelling on the train – the railway lines link different regions and they evoke such romantic ideas for me – it’s all very "Little Women" and "Anne of Green Gables" – pure classic fiction!

Speaking of which, I’ve heard tell of some very grand horse-drawn carriages in Salzburg and, of course, I’m dying to experience a proper ride! Picture this: A pristine horse pulling a grand carriage with me inside, wearing a perfect pink tutu! Now that would be an epic fairytale! (Stay tuned for an exciting update about my adventure in Salzburg!)

My Pink Tutu Dream: It's Catching On!

As you all know, my biggest goal in life is to get the world wearing pink tutus! It’s not just about the colour or the garment itself; it’s about feeling empowered, about being bold and beautiful, and celebrating your unique individuality. I believe that the power of a pink tutu is quite something! It reminds us to embrace a little magic and playfulness, no matter our age or circumstances!

I love seeing your amazing #PinkTutu adventures! You know I adore seeing you all rocking your tutus on Instagram and Facebook – it brightens my day and inspires me! Never be afraid to stand out, embrace the pink, and let your inner ballerina shine!

And, I can’t wait to share more adventures from my #PinkTutuVienna escapade next week!

Lots of Love,

Emma
