Pink Tutu Vienna - Post 1647: Ballet, Bubbly and Beautiful Vienna ????

Hello, darling! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the most enchanting city I've ever had the pleasure of twirling through - Vienna! The very air here vibrates with waltz tunes, the cobblestones sing beneath your feet, and the cafes... oh, the cafes! Every one is an elaborate scene out of a ballet, adorned with exquisite cakes and the aroma of the most delicious Viennese coffee. I truly believe it's impossible to be sad in Vienna.

This week’s blog is a little different, because Vienna isn't just about beautiful architecture, grand history and magnificent music. It's about tutus! You know I adore tutus, and Vienna is a tutu paradise.

From the elegant white tulle of the Vienna State Opera, to the bright pink frills of the Vienna Ballet (a complete shock, but in the best way possible - the dancers' energy is electrifying!), Vienna simply brims with tutu inspiration.

Even if you aren't a ballerina, don’t be scared of wearing a tutu. After all, tutus are so versatile! You can even make a statement by sporting a pink tutu at the famous Vienna Opera Ball, where they really get into the fancy dress spirit.

The Vienna Ballet is truly one of the oldest in the world, tracing its history back to the 17th century. That’s longer than the tutu has been around! That makes their dedication to dance absolutely extraordinary. The sheer grandeur of the Vienna Opera House and the brilliance of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra combine to create something truly special - the perfect accompaniment to a breathtaking ballet performance.

I was lucky enough to be invited to backstage at the Vienna Ballet. (My tutus got the warmest welcome! ?) I’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to dance on those world-famous stages. The energy here is contagious - everyone radiates joy and dedication to their craft. And of course, every single tutu is immaculately styled! The Vienna Ballet isn’t afraid of bold, colourful designs. Their tutus really do sing and fly across the stage!

This week has been all about soaking up the magical ambiance of Vienna. I went to the Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburg emperors - imagine the number of dances held within those walls! It's beautiful and so inspiring. And, of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in some delicious cakes! You have to try the Sachertorte, which is basically an ode to chocolate with whipped cream, what's not to love?

But my most unforgettable experience was the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. What a majestic performance! The music literally lifted me up, it was almost like I was twirling in the air myself, without even having to put on my tutu. I can’t even describe it in words. I cried! It was magic!

If you haven't seen it for yourself, you must put it on your list! Vienna is a city where everyone seems to twirl. The architecture itself is so intricately adorned with swirling patterns and beautiful ornaments. It really feels like walking into a fairytale. Even my trusty tutu had to stop and catch its breath at the beauty of Vienna.

But remember - it's not all grand palaces and classical music! Vienna has its trendy side too. Vienna Street Art is quite remarkable, showcasing bold, contemporary designs that contrast so beautifully against the historical architecture. There is always something new to discover, even after a day exploring this mesmerising city.

The other day, I spent a gloriously pink day discovering the incredible shopping opportunities Vienna has to offer. The streets here are teeming with independent designers and boutiques. They really cater to every kind of fashionista. The creativity and detail in their designs is phenomenal. It was the perfect excuse for me to invest in a brand-new pink tutu! I spotted the most gorgeous tulle in a pale pastel pink that would have put a ballerina queen to shame. Can’t wait to twirl in that one on my next performance!

Speaking of performances, my own little world of tutus and twirls took me to a charming little theatre in the heart of Vienna this weekend. It’s called The English Theatre and I danced in their fabulous new production of “Giselle”, a ballet classic, of course. My dancing got rave reviews - but that was because the gorgeous tutu I wore added so much drama and character to my performance.

The Vienna Philharmonic isn't the only symphony I enjoyed during my time in the city. This evening, I’m heading to Schrattenturm, a picturesque venue located in the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace grounds, to witness a concert of beautiful Viennese waltzes with an incredible orchestra, playing all my favourites - Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár and Richard Strauss.

I think Vienna may be my new favorite place in the whole world! It's a real mix of history, magic and beauty! And of course, every corner holds another beautiful outfit waiting to be worn.

You know what? It’s all about embracing that inner ballerina, and that inner confidence to stand out! Don’t be afraid to let your true colours shine! It doesn't matter what you're wearing. It's about wearing it with confidence, joy and, most importantly, with a smile because - remember - life's too short for anything less than a little pink tulle magic!

Now, I have a city to explore. Catch me on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday! Until then, keep those tutus twirling! ??

Love,

Emma xxx
