Oh my darlings! Greetings from the magical city of Vienna! It's a Wednesday, which means a fresh dose of #PinkTutuVienna for you! And my, what a week it's been.
You know I can't stay away from a waltz-filled city for too long! I arrived on Monday, all smiles and twirling in my latest pink tutu creation (more on that later!). It was an exciting train journey from my beloved Derbyshire – I just can't resist a journey by rail. There's something so romantic and wonderfully nostalgic about the gentle clatter and the stunning scenery zipping by. I might be a bit old-fashioned, but there's just no comparison to that train-travel feeling. It was the perfect start to my Austrian escapades!
Now, Vienna! This city is simply enchanting. It's as though every cobblestone is infused with music and history. Imagine my delight! From the moment I arrived, my eyes have been feasting on a symphony of Baroque beauty, graceful architecture, and… of course… countless pink opportunities!
Speaking of pink… the city's very air is brimming with romance, which made my pink tutu feel perfectly at home. Think cobblestone lanes draped in lilac blossoms, café terraces bustling with laughter, and those fairytale-like buildings with a gentle blush on their walls. It's a ballet dancer's dream!
This week I indulged in a whirl of Viennese activities, every moment radiating that "pink-tutu-perfect" energy. I danced the night away in a fabulous ballet show, the Vienna State Opera - simply glorious! I learned a few waltz steps at a ballet class, and took a carriage ride, drawn by majestic horses! That was just delightful – pure fairytale vibes!
Pink Tutu Shopping Paradise!
Vienna is a fashion haven! Every shop window displays something elegant and inspiring. From classic boutiques on the Kärntner Strasse to vintage finds nestled in hidden alleyways, I found my sartorial compass spinning with excitement. I found a truly exquisite vintage lace tutu – pale pink, of course – with intricate details. This is going to be the perfect piece for a special Viennese night!
Speaking of evenings, I can't go to Vienna without visiting the Vienna Philharmonic. The world-renowned orchestra - a breathtaking experience. And of course, I wore my pinkest tutu! I do like to make a statement! You know how it is...pink just shines brighter in this glorious city!
Vienna's Secret Ballerina Connection
Speaking of the city's ballet heritage, did you know that the famous Viennese Waltz is intrinsically linked with the ballet world? The grace and fluidity of the dance directly inspired the elegance and swirling energy of the waltz itself. They even have special dances called “Waltz of the Flowers”! Can you believe it! Vienna's history is woven through with graceful, twirling magic – perfect for a pink tutu fan!
And speaking of the waltz… my favourite day was my excursion to the Schönbrunn Palace! This magnificent royal residence was truly stunning, every detail carefully crafted, just like a delicate ballet. The palace gardens were a dream come true for a pink tutu. I'm convinced Marie Antoinette herself would have adored this place. In fact, they even had a very pink salon with pink furniture – and all for my little ballet soul!
I even saw some gorgeous, beautiful, white, and pink peacocks strutting their stuff! Peacocks have that same proud ballet-like bearing – a bit regal for a pink tutu, but still lovely. The carriage rides through those park gardens were pure enchantment - definitely my perfect “pink tutu Vienna" experience!
