Dearest Tutu Twirlers,

The sun is shining, the air is filled with the intoxicating aroma of coffee and pastries, and Vienna, oh Vienna, is utterly enchanting. It feels like stepping into a fairytale! I arrived just this morning, travelling in grand style on a gorgeous old train carriage, adorned with velvet upholstery and gleaming brass, all the way from Salzburg. I simply couldn't resist a journey through the Austrian countryside, and the rolling hills dotted with charming villages certainly did not disappoint.

My travels are all funded by the joy of my ballet performances, so if you happen to catch a glimpse of a pink tutu fluttering around the stage, you know it's me, bringing the magic to life. This week I'll be performing at the Theater an der Wien, a venue steeped in history and known for its spectacular acoustics. The play is a production of "Swan Lake", one of my absolute favourites. And speaking of favourites, there is just something so magical about a tutu on stage, especially when it's swirling and twirling against a backdrop of a fairytale setting!

But before I get lost in the swirling melodies of "Swan Lake", let's delve into what awaits us in the dazzling city of Vienna!

This city is a treasure trove for every tutu-loving fashionista! I've already started my exploration at the Naschmarkt, a vibrant open-air market bursting with fresh produce, flowers, and delightful surprises around every corner. I simply had to snag a gorgeous pink scarf, embroidered with a whimsical dancing ballerina, to adorn my pink tutu collection. It will look utterly divine when I'm waltzing around the Hofburg Palace, a grand palace complex boasting stunning architecture and endless opportunities for photoshoots with a tutu.

And speaking of tutus, how could I resist a visit to the Museum of Applied Arts? Their exhibition on the history of ballet is truly captivating! I learned about the evolution of the tutu, from the knee-length "tutu romantique" to the ultra-short "tutu pancake." Talk about a history lesson in fashion and artistry!

And while on the topic of artistry, no visit to Vienna is complete without indulging in the city's world-renowned opera houses and theatres. Vienna State Opera and Volksoper Wien, are must-see experiences for any ballet aficionado.

To make this adventure even more whimsical, I decided to explore Vienna on horseback. What better way to feel like a princess from a bygone era? The city's many horse-drawn carriages, a popular tourist attraction, allowed me to weave through the city's charming cobblestone streets and admire the stunning architecture of landmarks like the Vienna State Opera and the Stephansdom.

And speaking of fairytale experiences, I couldn't resist visiting the Prater amusement park. Imagine a grand Victorian-era park with vintage Ferris wheels, breathtaking roller coasters, and nostalgic charm! I spent the evening riding the "Giant Wheel," which provided panoramic views of the city that sparkled with lights. This park is pure enchantment!

After my horseback riding adventure, I was ready for some of Vienna's delicious traditional treats. Sacher-Torte, a rich chocolate cake with apricot jam, and Apfelstrudel, a flaky pastry filled with warm apples, are the perfect companions to a leisurely afternoon walk in the Stadtpark, a haven of tranquillity where nature meets urban life.

Vienna's culinary scene is a delicious adventure. And you simply can't resist a steaming cup of Wiener Melange, a velvety coffee with a dollop of foamed milk, enjoyed at one of the city's countless cozy coffee houses, the epitome of Viennese charm.

Vienna's beauty and energy inspire creativity and artistic expression. This city is alive with the whispers of music, art, and history, weaving together a rich tapestry of cultures and experiences. As I take my daily walk, admiring the grandeur of the Belvedere Palace and exploring the hidden corners of the Vienna Woods, I am filled with a sense of wonder and inspiration. I’m already planning to explore the Schönbrunn Palace and its expansive gardens, and perhaps visit the House of Music, a multimedia exhibition dedicated to the fascinating world of sound.

But before I embark on more adventures, I must share a tip with you fellow tutu-loving fashionistas. Visit the Fashion Museum Wien. This delightful museum tells the story of fashion and its influence on our society, and I have a feeling they might even have some intriguing exhibits on tutus.

As the sun sets over the majestic cityscape of Vienna, I can’t help but feel a sense of contentment and excitement. Vienna, with its waltz of enchantment and its captivating spirit, has a permanent place in my heart.
