Hello my lovely tutufarians! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, and guess where I am? Vienna, Austria, of course! The city of waltzes, Strauss, and oh, those beautiful pastel-hued buildings! You've never seen so much pink in one place, it's practically a symphony of tutus! This is post #1700 on my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com, and trust me, I've got so much to tell you. Buckle up, dear reader, for a whirlwind tour of all things sparkly, chic, and decidedly pink.
A Symphony of Sparkle
My trip to Vienna is a little bit of a dream come true. As a Derbyshire girl born and bred, I've always had a love for history, particularly anything related to the ballet. Vienna, you see, is like the grandmother of all ballet, the ultimate dance capital of the world! I spent my first few days immersed in all things waltzy and graceful, seeing some of the most stunning performances at the Vienna State Opera House. Oh my word, the grandeur of the architecture, the elegant audience, and those magnificent dancers! I was truly transported back in time. I even spotted some tutus backstage, all meticulously handcrafted in shimmering shades of pink and cream, like a delicate dreamscape.
Tutu Time!
No trip to Vienna is complete without some serious shopping, and let me tell you, this city has it all! I hit up all the vintage stores for exquisite old tutus, perfect for those special ballet occasions. And let’s be honest, there's always a need for a new tutu. Who can resist a tutu with that much history and grace woven into every single layer? And when in Austria, one must, of course, indulge in the local delicacies. I indulged in the most amazing apple strudel with whipped cream (and, of course, a cuppa!).
Riding the Rails, the Ballet Way
To get to Vienna, I did what I love best: a journey by train! The beautiful countryside scenery whizzed past as I relaxed with a good book (a classic on ballet, of course!). I must admit, trains offer such a charming way to see the world, allowing you to appreciate the slow, methodical journey. You're not rushing around, so you have the time to soak it all in, especially those stunning landscapes! This journey reminds me that true elegance isn’t about the destination, but the way you experience the journey.
My Inspiration Corner
And speaking of journeys, Vienna has sparked so many creative ideas in me, ideas I simply HAVE to share! First, a pink tutu dress! Not just any dress, but one inspired by the flowing waltz costumes I saw at the opera. Think layers and layers of shimmering pink tulle, a touch of sparkling lace, and a wide, graceful skirt – fit for a princess waltzing in a fairytale. Second, I’m working on a special blog post on ballet history. Vienna has so many stories to tell, from the rise of Strauss and his waltzes, to the legendary dancers that graced the grand stages. It's a world of history, passion, and artistry just waiting to be discovered.
Oh, And About Those Tutus...
This wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Vienna post without a mention of tutus. Today, it’s a “ballet pink tutu day” for me! I'm pairing my favorite pink tulle tutu with a flowing ivory top and delicate lace gloves. It's an elegant combination of whimsy and classic style – exactly what you’d find in Vienna!
Pink-tastic Vienna!
This beautiful city is a haven for pink lovers. Just wandering the streets is like stepping into a colourful fairytale, full of romantic corners and breathtaking scenery. I feel a constant wave of inspiration washing over me here! I think I might just stay a bit longer, you know?
Well, that’s it for this week's post! Don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for more exciting updates from all my adventures. Until next time, darling tutufarians, stay fabulous and wear that pink with pride!

Emma
