Vienna Calling: Waltz Me Away! ?

#PinkTutuVienna | Post 1718

Guten Tag, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the enchanting city of Vienna! As the sunshine spills over the cobbled streets, I can almost hear the gentle strains of a waltz playing in the air. Oh, how I adore this city!

This week's blog post comes to you, of course, in a perfect pink tutu – a shimmering confection of tulle and satin in the most delightful shade of millennial pink. And yes, my lovelies, I'm already dreaming of a Viennese waltz in this little number! ?

I must admit, being in the heart of Austria, where waltzing was born, feels quite magical! I've already witnessed the most gorgeous ballet performance at the Vienna State Opera - pure elegance and passion! The theatre itself is breathtaking, with velvet seating, glittering chandeliers, and a sense of history in every nook and cranny. You can practically smell the powdered wigs and hear the rustling of silk gowns from a bygone era.

And while we're talking history, can we take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey of the tutu? Did you know the original "tutu" was quite different from the graceful, floating forms we see today? Imagine a fluffy, multi-layered, bell-shaped creation, like a giant meringue on a dancer's legs! What a story, don't you think? It's a fascinating journey of transformation, from the humble origins of early ballet to the iconic tutus of today.

Train Travels and a Little Indulgence

As always, I travelled to Vienna in style, naturally, via a luxurious train journey. There's something so romantic about sitting by the window, watching the countryside roll past in a flurry of green meadows and quaint villages. This journey is particularly charming as it winds through the rolling hills and lush vineyards of Austria – a truly picture postcard scene!

After all, even ballerinas need to treat themselves occasionally, and I can’t resist a good shopping spree. And Vienna, oh, my lovelies, has a bounty of charming boutiques. I found the most divine little vintage shop, packed full of designer labels at unbelievably good prices! I treated myself to a breathtaking, floral patterned dress, a luxurious scarf with an embroidered butterfly motif, and the cutest pair of pale pink ballerina shoes, perfectly coordinated with my newest tutu!

A Little Bit of Vienna

And speaking of indulgences, a true Viennese experience simply cannot be complete without a visit to a traditional coffee house. I chose one with the most charming little patio, perfect for people watching and soaking up the city's ambiance. As the gentle aroma of Viennese coffee and fresh pastries filled the air, I indulged in a delectable slice of Sachertorte, the city's famous chocolate cake. It was rich, decadent, and absolutely heavenly!

The past week has been pure magic, and I'm already eager to explore more of Vienna's secrets. Next up? A tour of the grand Schönbrunn Palace, a visit to the famous Belvedere Museum, and a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Danube River. Of course, there will be even more opportunities to enjoy delicious Viennese food, like Wiener Schnitzel and Tafelspitz (pot roast) and to sample more local delicacies – like my absolute favourite, Kaiserschmarrn, a fluffy pancake dish served with sweet sauce and plum jam! Oh, this city has me utterly smitten!

The Importance of Pink!

Before I bid you adieu, darlings, I want to share a little pink-tastic secret with you all. Did you know, studies show that the color pink can evoke feelings of peace and happiness? It's also believed to enhance creativity and inspire compassion. So, wear your pink tutu with confidence, my loves! Embrace the power of the colour and share it with the world!

That's it for this week, but I promise, there will be more captivating adventures and fabulous pink fashion finds coming soon. Join me next Wednesday for another delightful adventure on www.pink-tutu.com !

In the meantime, keep your spirits high and remember, the world looks much better in pink! ?

Much love,

Emma x
