Oh my darlings, it's Wednesday again and that means it's time to dance our way back to the world of Pink Tutu Vienna! This week, Vienna's charm has taken my breath away, but I won't let it take over my pink-tinted vision! After a magical journey on the Orient Express, (imagine, my darlings, a pink tutu swaying alongside opulent carriages) I found myself arriving at Vienna’s magnificent central station.
This city has just so much history, just like the tulle itself in my precious tutu! It's almost like being in a historical ballet production itself, but with far more strudel and coffee, (and, thankfully, far less tutus, unless of course I was wearing mine).
This week was all about embracing the Viennese elegance, and of course, a healthy dose of tutus and ballet to boot!
Wednesday Whimsy in Vienna
The moment I set foot on the cobblestone streets, I could practically hear a Strauss waltz playing in the air. Oh, what a city this is for ballet lovers, with its elegant cafes and palatial architecture - a ballerina's dream! My darling tutu, in a fluttery shade of pale pink, became the centrepiece for my elegant day exploring. I just knew that pink was the perfect colour for a city like this, with its elegant gardens, graceful cafes and sophisticated charm. Every sight seemed to inspire a twirl!
My very first stop was the Hofburg Palace, a vast historical complex. Even the palace’s gardens seem to have been sculpted into scenes from ballet. I spent hours imagining what balls would have been held there, and how those grand dames of the past must have swayed in their opulent dresses, just as I would sway in my ballet skirt, even if my dancing wasn't quite so grand. I have to say, their clothes were awfully inspired. What wouldn't I give for some of their vintage couture - or a tutu, of course!
Later in the afternoon, I traded my comfy, trusty train shoes (which I wear for travelling on long journeys by train as, you can imagine, I can’t always wear ballet shoes for those, but these are my favourite trainers to travel in) for some sleek, ankle-strap heels (pink, of course) to walk Vienna’s elegant streets. And to find a shop - oh, what a treasure I found, darling - that had the most exquisite tutu display! I couldn’t resist trying them all on, but my true heart remained with my own pink one. I decided I would let the window display do the dancing today, and it did it beautifully!
The Theatre of the Tutus
But of course, what would a Pink Tutu Vienna week be without seeing some exquisite ballet performances! Vienna, a city deeply ingrained with its artistic traditions, had plenty of stunning shows to choose from. The grand Vienna State Opera, and even the Burgtheater, had spectacular performances with captivating performances of classic and contemporary ballets. Oh darling, those ballet costumes, so incredibly detailed, and I spotted some of the most exquisite tutus imaginable! Even though I might be biased, they just did not compare to mine. You know me - I think every tutu is pretty in its own right, even if I wouldn’t quite consider wearing some!
As I’ve been feeling adventurous this week, I headed to the Staatsoper for an unforgettable evening attending the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra concert. The acoustics and the incredible talent of the musicians were beyond impressive, leaving me completely spellbound!
And as for the city itself, Vienna, I'm just so charmed. It's like stepping out of a fairy tale with all its baroque architecture, music, history and, dare I say, charm. Oh my, Vienna! It has been such a beautiful adventure. But alas, it's time to say adieu until next week, darlings!

Oh, but before I go, darling, I need to show off a few of my travel treasures from my time in Vienna! After all, what trip is complete without some lovely new additions to your pink tutu wardrobe (or just the one tutu, that being my trusty pink one, you can trust me to say it, it is my favourite!), a special treat or two, or some special things to keep in my travel bag?

*1. A Vintage Vienna Scarf: *
Okay, darling, I love me a vintage find. It has to be the perfect shade of pale pink, just like my ballet skirt. It’s so silky and delicate with beautiful floral patterns - I’ll be pairing it with my favorite little black dress. Oh my, this scarf is destined for a future ballet-inspired photo shoot - think romantic twirls!
*2. Viennese Coffee Delight: *
Vienna is a coffee lover's paradise and no trip is complete without indulging in some truly decadent coffee! I sampled a "Wiener Melange," which is, as the name would suggest, a Vienna coffee specialty, which was essentially an Americano with a fluffy milk head. Divine. I also discovered that the coffee was pink, (that was no coincidence, of course!).
3. A Delectable Pink Pastry :
I couldn’t come to Vienna without savouring some exquisite pastries. A Sachertorte, that heavenly chocolate cake, with an irresistible sweet glaze was my ultimate indulgence. Note: The bakery kindly provided me with a pink-themed presentation on a pink saucer! How considerate of them!
*4. My Little Ballet Treasure: *
I found an exquisite tutu while at the opera! I can’t resist finding one, you can never have too many tutus, even if they do take up so much of the wardrobe space, although, darling, I never quite have enough space in my dressing room, my darling pink tutu always steals the show. The store I found had many tutus but, to be frank, only the ones I found I wanted to wear! The best find was the tiny silver brooch I found, a ballerina design in silver with beautiful, dainty pearls to adorn it. Of course, it was in pink. Oh, it was so darling I simply had to buy it. I’m wearing it on the front of my ballet bag! Oh darling, I think the tiny, ballerina’s tutu is dancing on my bag with glee!
*5. Vienna Ballet Memorabilia: *
A beautiful art deco print, inspired by an art nouveau illustration of ballet dancers I found for a song of Vienna Waltz. It will look lovely in the studio - right next to the other ballet posters and, my darling, you will never guess it was, you guessed it - in pink! Oh, I love the colors of the print, all so exquisite - it's a true reminder of my dancing, pink, fairytale. I’m putting this print up at my place. My London home is almost a ballet studio! My ballet dreams live in pink.
