Pink Tutu Travels: June 2018 - The World’s My Stage! 🩰✨

Hello darlings, and welcome to my little corner of the internet, Pink Tutu Travels! 👑 It’s Emma here, your glamorous guide to all things drag! It’s so good to be back with another installment of my monthly misadventures in time travel, and today, my dears, we’re swirling back to June 2018, a time when glitter was glistening and fabulousness was flourishing!

This time, my magical pink tutu carried me to a vibrant melting pot of drag energy, each corner of the world bursting with sassy talent and breathtaking performances! You see, I may hail from the rolling green hills of Derbyshire, England, but the drag world is my oyster, and this journey was no exception. ✨

First stop - New York City! Oh, honey, the city that never sleeps certainly lives up to its name, and in the heart of its drag scene, RuPaul’s Drag Race was in its ninth season. The talent was fierce! A quick peek at the schedule shows the queens were serving sickening realness on June 7th with the premiere of “Drag Race Holi-Slay,” while just a couple of weeks later on the 21st, they strutted their stuff in a drag-tastic game of “Snatch Game” with iconic celebrity impersonations.

And you know me, I can’t resist a good drag show! Imagine, The Bronx’s legendary drag haven, "The Drag Brunch", hosting a packed house of drag lovers - just a dream! Can you picture me? Front and centre, sparkling in my signature pink tutu, soaking up every sequin and wink! 💖

From the dazzling lights of New York, my pink tutu carried me across the pond, to the dynamic London drag scene. Now, I may be a Derbyshire gal, but London holds a special place in my heart. It's a whirlwind of creativity, where every alleyway hums with an infectious energy. June saw the city in full swing, and of course, I just had to catch a show!

My sights were set on "The Glory", a renowned cabaret theatre renowned for hosting some of the most innovative drag performers around. A mix of playful theatricality and cutting-edge performances, it was pure, unadulterated drag magic! 🤩

However, my adventures weren’t limited to the stage! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Travels escapade without some retail therapy. Let's face it, darling, who doesn't love a little fashion? This June, the London Fashion Week was buzzing, and you can bet your bottom dollar I was in the thick of it. The energy was palpable! I saw designers presenting jaw-dropping couture, and yes, darling, some even incorporated tutus (shocking, I know)! 😉

The whole world, as always, seemed to be bathed in a beautiful rainbow of fabulousness. From the vibrant street performances of Toronto and Sydney, to the electrifying club nights of Paris and Berlin, it seemed like everyone was embracing their inner diva!

Oh, and remember dear, June was Pride Month, too! 💖 From the iconic marches of New York City, to the electrifying festivals in London and Berlin, it was truly a time for celebrating love and individuality! My tutu, with its beautiful shade of pink, seemed to resonate even more during those days - a reminder to wear your true colours with pride!

It’s so incredible how the world has evolved since the start of this drag journey. 🌎💖 There are so many more opportunities and acceptance for queer artists than ever before.

But for me, darling, my biggest achievement remains the same - inspiring you all to embrace your inner diva and don your own pink tutu! 😉

Don’t forget, this blog wouldn’t be possible without the magic of drag performance, which keeps my time-travelling pink tutu soaring! You can catch me performing at (insert locations, clubs, or events here) and I promise, it’ll be a fabulous night of glitter and glorious entertainment! ✨

Until next time, keep twirling, keep shining, and most importantly, keep wearing your pink tutus with pride!

See you next month on Pink-Tutu.com!

Much love,

Emma 💕
