Hello darlings! Emma here, back with another installment from my London adventure! This week, it's all about a fabulously pink Friday in the big city! As usual, I travelled in style - the train ride from Derbyshire was simply dreamy, and my trusty pink tutu flowed effortlessly as I took my seat. You know I can't resist a twirl or two when no one is watching, haha!
London has this magical pull, doesn't it? Every time I visit, I feel like I'm walking onto a stage, ready to be part of something extraordinary!
Speaking of stages, did you know the Royal Opera House has The Magic Flute running this month? It's a real classic and the costumes, well, divine! Think shimmering colours, feather boas, and just a touch of pink, of course. If only they had me twirling in the ensemble! ? But you can bet I'll be donning my finest pink tutu and joining the crowd in a standing ovation at the end of the performance!
But before I get too carried away with all things theatre, let's talk about the absolute highlight of my Friday: shopping, darling, shopping! I am an absolute sucker for a good vintage shop, and London's brimming with them! From charming boutiques nestled down cobblestone streets to the iconic Camden Market, there's something for everyone!
This week, I stumbled upon the most divine shop tucked away in Notting Hill. The vintage clothing was impeccable, and I managed to snag a 1950s-inspired frock that's absolutely perfect for twirling in. Of course, it came with the perfect matching hat! Don't worry, I'll be posting pics on our Instagram soon - Pink Tutu Diaries - you have to see this stunning ensemble!
But it wasn't all about clothes this Friday. We're in London, the hub of everything fabulous and creative. The city has been a vibrant tapestry of music, art, and theatrical brilliance throughout the day. I popped into a quaint cafe for afternoon tea – don't judge! – and indulged in some classic British delights: finger sandwiches, scones, and, of course, the essential pink cake!
For dinner, I decided to explore one of the famous foodie districts - Brixton, I believe it's called. I fell in love with this vibrant neighbourhood - street art, lively markets, and a delicious Ethiopian restaurant that served vegetarian food with spiced lentils and oh-so-tender chicken stews! The entire place felt like a celebration of culture, a kaleidoscope of colour and flavours!
And who says you can't have a spot of ballet even while exploring London? After dinner, I stumbled upon an outdoor performance right in the heart of Covent Garden - a group of young dancers gracefully weaving their magic, their tutus swirling and sparkling beneath the twinkling London night sky! I joined in the applause, feeling that familiar flutter in my chest - the magic of ballet, even on the street!
Later that night, it was back to the hotel. It’s all about capturing the moments for Pink Tutu Diaries!
But before you scroll down, I just have one little favor to ask. Do you remember why I travel all around the world, documenting my life in pink tutu? It's because I believe everyone deserves a little sparkle and a whole lot of fun. It's a message I like to spread with every twirl! So next time you go out, be bold, wear a little pink, maybe a touch of sparkle, and dare to embrace your inner ballerina!
Stay twirling,
Emma x
