Darling readers,
How are you all doing today? It’s Friday, and you know what that means? A fresh new Pink Tutu Blog, straight from the capital itself! This week I've taken the train all the way down from Derbyshire (not to worry, it wasn't a 'bloody awful train journey', promise! It was actually quite lovely – just me, a steaming cuppa and my latest ballet novel) and I'm so thrilled to be in London. It feels like stepping into a fairytale!
The capital is alive with the excitement of a new season, the shops are overflowing with autumnal fashion, and the scent of autumn leaves mixes with the unmistakable aroma of roasted chestnuts - the quintessential London experience, don’t you think?
And speaking of autumn fashion, I simply can't wait to tell you all about the exquisite new tutu I found on Oxford Street yesterday! I must say, it’s absolutely fabulous. I've paired it with my trusty pair of pink ballet flats (how can you resist a bit of colour? It’s practically compulsory, wouldn’t you agree?) and I've got my heart set on finding a beautiful pink feather boa to complete the ensemble. The hunt begins tomorrow!
This weekend, I've got a real treat in store: a showing of "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House. The ballet was on my must-see list as soon as I landed in London and the tickets were definitely worth every penny - they're already promising to be an absolute dream.
But London has more than just ballet to offer, you know. On Wednesday I treated myself to an afternoon tea at The Ritz – pure indulgence. They served delicious sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and lashings of tea, all surrounded by breathtaking opulence and elegance. And as you know, my girls, nothing pleases a tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast quite as much as a spot of fancy dress and an exquisite tea. Just delightful!
I can't resist adding a quick mention about the breathtaking street performers I came across on the Tube the other day. Imagine - three boys, dressed in vibrant tutus, expertly twirling and dancing to a classical piano tune! I do hope you have a look on YouTube at some of London's fabulous street ballet – it’s something special!
I've already made a note of several ballet performances that I can’t wait to see. "Giselle" is on my to-see list (if you’re a first time ballet fan, "Giselle" is a must!), I'm planning to pop in to the Royal Ballet School, and, of course, I have to catch a glimpse of "The Nutcracker" during the festive season. Let's be honest, ballet really is the perfect year-round activity!
Speaking of activities, what have you lovely people been up to this week? Did you wear pink this Friday? I hope you’re inspired by my pink tutus to wear yours! There's nothing quite like the confidence boost a little pink can bring. Be your best selves, my darlings!
Speaking of inspiring people, don't forget that I'll be performing at the Nottingham City Ballet this Sunday evening! This is the performance that has helped to fund my trip to London! I simply adore this theatre.

London has so much to offer on a cultural level this week:
West End Theatres: London is the ultimate theatre city. On Thursday, you can catch "Phantom of the Opera" and “Les Misérables” if musicals are your cup of tea, whilst Friday offers a host of classical, comedic, and even historical dramas to fill any theatre-goer's heart!
Museums & Galleries: Art fans can indulge at the National Gallery on Saturday, whilst London's Tate Modern offers the ultimate contemporary art experience on Sunday. Don’t forget, if you're ever in London and fancy a beautiful walk through a leafy green haven, I heartily recommend the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Food, glorious food: For a quintessential London food experience, look no further than Borough Market on Friday or the famous Covent Garden on Wednesday. If you're looking for something different, take a tour of Brick Lane on Sunday - you can find amazing Caribbean and Bangladeshi cuisines! And for a delicious afternoon treat, check out the "Fortnum & Mason" tea room for an elegant, authentic, and undeniably delicious experience! (P.S.
