#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday 1999-10-15 - Whirlwind of Pink in the Capital! ??

Welcome, my darling readers! It's Emma here, your resident tutu enthusiast and fashionista, ready to whisk you away to the dazzling streets of London. This week marks a glorious return to the capital, and you can be sure my pink tutu is making its grand entrance with a flourish!

This blog, the 163rd installment of my #PinkTutuBlogLondon series, is dedicated to the whirlwind adventures that unfolded during my Friday escapades. With a heart full of anticipation, and my trusty ballet bag stuffed with everything a girl needs for a London day, I boarded the train from my dear Derbyshire home, ready to embrace the energy of the city!

The Pink-tastic Journey:

Train journeys are my personal paradise. They're like miniature escapes, filled with possibilities. The gentle rhythm of the tracks and the fleeting views of the countryside are a perfect backdrop for a dose of my favorite indulgence - reading. This time, it was Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," a classic that never fails to bring a smile to my face. I do believe Mr. Darcy would have quite appreciated a pink tutu, don't you? ?

Reaching London Paddington was pure magic. That familiar scent of warm brickwork and the bustle of the city filled me with a joyous anticipation. Of course, I had to strike a pose at the station – my signature Pink Tutu move in front of the iconic red phone box! (You can see it on my Instagram – I just know it’ll get you giggling!)

My Pink Tutu Trail Through London:

With a skip and a twirl, I embarked on my exploration. I’ve decided this London adventure was all about the theatrical - not just ballet, though of course, that plays a significant role, but everything from music to fashion felt theatrical! It truly was a perfect day to feel a touch of drama.

My Must-Dos for Every Pink Tutu Tourist:

1. A Stroll Through Covent Garden:

The Covent Garden Piazza has a certain charm. All the buskers and the vendors add a touch of vibrancy that is pure London. And what better way to take in the sights and sounds than with a twirl or two in your pink tutu? Don’t forget your camera, darlings! I had a blast posing amongst the floral arrangements. ?

2. Shopping at Liberty London:

Oh, how I love this iconic store! Liberty’s got this vintage, whimsical vibe that simply begs you to get lost in its colourful aisles. I couldn’t resist picking up a floral-print scarf and a pair of charming gloves that match perfectly with my favorite pink tutu (which, by the way, is finally ready for a proper airing!)

3. A Theatrical Experience at the Barbican Centre:

The Barbican Centre is truly an architectural marvel. But its magic goes beyond its appearance; it’s a haven for performing arts, offering an eclectic mix of concerts, theatre, and dance. The grandeur of the theatre itself adds a touch of regality, even the seats! Today’s show, though, was pure entertainment! The comedic genius of the ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ brought the entire audience to tears. (Well, maybe giggles, really).

4. A Dinner with a View at the Shard:

As the sun began its descent, I found myself on a high, indulging in a romantic dinner at a restaurant nestled at the top of The Shard. I felt like I could reach out and touch the twinkling stars. I confess, I had a little dance on my chair – it’s hard to resist twirling with a breathtaking panorama as my backdrop!

5. The Final Curtsy:

By evening, the London sky shimmered with a vibrant array of colors as the city lights came on, reminding me of my beloved tutu. My day had flown by – so much so, that I even almost forgot to indulge in a warm cup of hot chocolate from a street vendor, a delightful tradition I must keep.

And with that, I concluded my day in London, a true pink tutu odyssey! My love for this magnificent city only grew stronger, and my heart was full of excitement for future escapades. After all, London always offers new stories waiting to be written in the vibrant hues of a pink tutu!

P.S.: You know how much I love finding inspiration from the theatre and street performances – they really are a source of pure joy! And guess what? On the 15th of October, 1999, a phenomenal dance performance of the American Ballet Theatre took to the stage. My absolute dream, honestly! What a phenomenal piece! But my real hope? Everyone can always experience that magic! Maybe just a tiny pink tutu is all it takes. ?✨

Keep Twirling,

Emma ?
