#PinkTutuBlogLondon: Friday Fun in the Capital (Post #190)

Oh my darlings, it's Friday again! And guess what? I'm back in London! This week, the train journey up from Derbyshire was particularly enchanting. I'd bought myself a new, sparkly pink polka dot head scarf, the perfect match for my blush pink tutu (it's my latest one - a twirling masterpiece, I must say). The sun was streaming through the windows, making my pink reflection shimmer in the glass. It felt like I was in a moving pink cloud of joy. And, wouldn't you know it, my journey was serenaded by a lovely young gentleman playing a violin, a melody that flowed perfectly with the rhythm of the train. A perfect start to my London adventure!

This weekend, I'm here for two fantastic performances: first, a matinee of "Sleeping Beauty" at the Royal Opera House and later tonight, "The Phantom of the Opera". The excitement is almost unbearable! Can you imagine me in my pink tutu amongst all the opulence and grandeur of these venues? It's a ballerina's dream come true!

Now, as usual, I must tell you all about the day's adventures. And this Friday, it all started with a most lovely treat - breakfast at The Ivy on Baker Street. They've finally re-opened their cafe after that big revamp, and oh my, the decor! A stunning pastel pink and green scheme with delicate floral accents. It felt like stepping into a fairyland tea party - I knew immediately I needed to grab some pictures for my Instagram (@pinktutulondon).

Afterwards, I took a leisurely stroll through Regent's Park. The spring air was so fresh and invigorating. The colours were all just starting to pop - bright pinks and yellows, green buds unfurling on trees and little pink flowers dotting the grassy fields. Oh, how I do love spring in London! The atmosphere just feels so lively.

Before my big performances, I indulged in a little shopping therapy in Oxford Street. You see, darlings, it wouldn't be a trip to London without at least a little bit of shopping, would it? This time, I found myself gravitating towards floral patterns - I think the colours of spring are just calling out to my inner girly girl. I snagged the cutest pink floral scarf from Liberty (such amazing colours!), a beautiful pale pink silk top from Selfridges, and a delicate floral-patterned skirt from Zara - perfect for a ballet performance or a stroll through the park!

And then, the big moment arrived: The Royal Opera House! It was pure magic, from the plush red velvet seats to the stunning set designs. "Sleeping Beauty" is such a classic, and the ballerina's performance was breathtaking - the grace, the beauty, the skill! You can tell that they dedicate their whole lives to the art.

My evening was topped off with a captivating performance of "The Phantom of the Opera". It’s so hauntingly beautiful and full of passion, with the Phantom's singing and the orchestra just so captivating! The ending, of course, left me feeling quite moved, in a rather positive, tearful kind of way! I always find those operatic experiences just so wonderfully immersive.

Tomorrow, before my return to Derbyshire, I'm going to the British Museum! I've never actually visited before. I love to discover new things and the history behind them. Who knows what pink tutus they might have discovered in their archives? (Fingers crossed, darling!). I can imagine a magnificent princess from ancient times twirling about in a perfectly pink, beaded tulle creation!

Well, darlings, I must be off to pack my bags! I hope you've enjoyed this little Friday diary entry. I’ll be back next week with another exciting installment of #PinkTutuBlogLondon, bursting with all things pink, lovely and delightful. Don’t forget to check back next week at www.pink-tutu.com and follow me on Instagram @pinktutulondon.

Until then, stay stylish and twirl-tastic!

Lots of love,
