Pink Tutu Blog: London Adventures - Post #274
Friday, 30th November 2001
Good morning darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be back in London for another weekend of dazzling delights. My journey from Derbyshire was an absolute dream. There's just something magical about travelling by train – especially when you're rocking a tutu (mine was a blush pink this time, naturally) and gazing out the window at the countryside flashing by.
First stop - the Theatre Royal Drury Lane
As I always say, London is the capital of theatre, and this weekend promises to be absolutely fabulous. Tonight I'm off to see "The Phantom of the Opera". Now, you might be thinking, Emma, "Phantom" – that's a classic, you've seen it a million times. But hear me out! Firstly, it's just utterly breathtaking – the music, the sets, the sheer theatricality of it all. Secondly, I have a feeling that a certain someone will be there tonight… a certain someone who shares my love of all things glittery and grand, and who, just maybe, will even wear a pink tutu himself (fingers crossed!).
Fashion and Frolics in Covent Garden
After "Phantom", I'm going to grab a spot of dinner in Covent Garden, the hub of London life and all things sparkly. This time I'm trying a little place called "The Ivy". I heard whispers about a stunning new rose-gold champagne cocktail. Of course, I'll be snapping photos of every exquisite plate and sharing them with you all on my Insta - #PinkTutuBlogLondon
Speaking of Covent Garden, it's simply bursting with independent boutiques, vintage finds and designers you’ve never even heard of, but definitely should. And for a fellow pink tutu-wearing fashionista, a shopping spree in London's vintage stores is practically a necessity! I just love discovering that unique piece that will perfectly match my personality – and a vintage find can always be accessorised with the perfect tutu, let’s be honest.
Ballet Bliss at the Royal Opera House
But let’s get back to what really makes my heart sing - ballet. Tomorrow, I'm catching a matinee of “Swan Lake” at the Royal Opera House, and you can just imagine my excitement! Watching the grace, the skill, the sheer talent of those dancers on the world-famous stage, it truly sets my soul on fire. It’s also a bit of an inspiration for my own ballet classes, which I’m thinking of putting up a little sign for. Maybe I’ll call them “Pink Tutu Ballet Lessons”? What do you think?
London: A City That Inspires
What I love about London, beyond the amazing theatre and ballet, is that the city just pulsates with creativity. It inspires, challenges, and sparks new ideas in every single one of us. And honestly, where better to wear your pink tutu with complete and utter confidence? The possibilities are truly endless.

Restaurant: "The Ivy"
London is packed with amazing restaurants, but "The Ivy" in Covent Garden is definitely one of my new favorites. I especially loved their unique take on the classic “Ivy Martini”, featuring cucumber, rosemary, and gin. Delicious! And oh my goodness, their lemon ricotta cheesecake – pure heaven.
