Pink Tutu Blog London: #315 - London Calling! (And I'm Wearing Pink, Obviously) 🩰💖

Hey everyone! Emma here, reporting live from London, where I've just hopped off the train, my pink tutu swishing excitedly. I know, I know, London's not exactly Derbyshire, but my heart's been set on a little London adventure for weeks, fuelled by the magic of ballet and the promise of finding some fabulous new outfits. (Because, let's face it, London is basically the mecca of fashion, right?)

This week, I’m on the road again! You guys know how much I adore train journeys. Something about the rhythmic clickety-clack and the chance to lose myself in a good book just gets me feeling good. I packed my usual travel essentials: pink travel cushion, matching pink earplugs (because sometimes the snoring of fellow passengers can be a bit much), a well-worn copy of Swan Lake and, of course, a new pink tutu. This one has a delicate floral print - I thought it might be good for a London afternoon tea. Fancy, right? 😉

Now, today is Friday, so you know what that means… It's Pink Tutu Blog London day! It’s our weekly tradition - a little glimpse into my week, what’s going on in London and, naturally, everything pink tutu.

And where to even begin with this weekend's adventure? Today’s been all about exploring, feeling that London vibe.

I touched down in Paddington, which is one of my favourite London stations - there's something charming about its historic vibe, with the brickwork and that old fashioned clock. My heart just feels warm and fuzzy when I step into Paddington. Plus, who doesn't love a good Paddington Bear story?

From Paddington, it was a short tube ride over to Hyde Park. I swear, that place always makes me feel like I’m in a movie. The open space, the green, the serene ponds… It’s a place for everyone! I took a leisurely stroll through the park, enjoying the dappled sunlight, watching families playing, and maybe even catching a glimpse of a dog with its tail wagging furiously - it was that kind of afternoon!

Then, of course, I had to find a spot to get that iconic London park view. You know, with a little slice of the skyline, some beautiful greenery and… you guessed it… a fabulous photo of me twirling in my pink tutu! It’s my brand, and I love bringing it to life wherever I go! Let’s just say the park's got the Instagrammability going on, and it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Blog London if we didn't get those perfect snaps.

Next up on my London adventure, I hopped off the tube and headed to Covent Garden. The energy here is something else. It's buzzing, it’s full of life, and it’s just got that special kind of magic, which draws you in and leaves you wanting more. They had street performers, an incredible selection of street food - you know I couldn't resist a little afternoon treat, something decadent - and it’s just such a colourful, bustling, delightful place.

Now, if you follow my blog, you know I’m not the biggest fan of crowds. Sometimes I think a crowd of more than five is a crowd too big. So Covent Garden had me a bit overwhelmed to be honest. But, the fun factor quickly surpassed my anxieties. I took it all in - the lively atmosphere, the colourful market stalls, and, of course, the delicious scent of street food that seemed to waft into the air.

Oh, and did I mention the beautiful flower market? Imagine a wonderland of colours, the most intricate and delicate blooms. My eyes were feasting on rows of fragrant lilies, graceful orchids, and sun-kissed sunflowers - it was a flower-lover's dream. There are few things better than finding beauty in the mundane, and this flower market just screamed that out.

For dinner, I decided on a small, quaint restaurant near Covent Garden. I know, I know, you might think that’s not very London, but this particular spot had me wanting to step out of the tourist trail and just enjoy something peaceful and cozy.

Let me tell you, my meal was one of those experiences where each mouthful felt like a small piece of perfection. Everything, from the starter to the main course, was impeccably prepared and presented - a feast for the senses! It’s been a while since I've enjoyed a proper, sit-down dinner - that’s life as a busy, travelling ballerina!

After a long day of exploring London’s sights, I made my way to the London Coliseum to catch a breathtaking ballet performance of "La Sylphide". Honestly, you guys, the music, the storytelling, the dancers - the whole experience was magical.

I'm talking goosebumps and tears and that kind of emotional rollercoaster you just don’t get in everyday life. Every movement was so fluid and graceful. I sat in the audience with a heart full of pure joy. I came out of the theatre floating on a cloud! And, you guys know me, a perfect ballerina's outfit has to go hand-in-hand with a ballet show! I slipped on my beautiful new black tulle skirt (again with a sprinkle of pink, because who can resist pink!) and felt utterly, utterly ready to embrace the London night.

The best part about being in London, honestly, is its sheer ability to take you on an adventure every night of the week! One day you might be exploring museums, and the next, you’re on a rooftop with a breathtaking view.

So, what's on for the rest of my weekend in London?

Firstly, let's talk shopping. Yes, I am planning to spend an obscene amount of money - and by that, I mean that I am not afraid to find some new, delicious, gorgeous clothing to add to my already, somewhat extensive, wardrobe. There's no shortage of gorgeous things to see on the streets of London, so I will be hunting down some pieces to make my fellow Pink Tutu Blog readers blush with envy!

Of course, no London adventure is complete without visiting the grand and iconic British Museum. You know how much I love art, history and exploring museums. It’s where I get inspired, so naturally, it had to be on my London agenda!

Saturday’s schedule has an array of shopping adventures. Then, on Sunday, I plan to embrace a quieter pace. Perhaps, a delightful, traditional Sunday roast, a picnic in Richmond Park with a breathtaking view, and a nice visit to Kew Gardens with its captivating flowers and lush landscapes - yes, I am going all-out!

So, there you have it, folks! My whirlwind Friday adventure through London has already been a blast! Stay tuned for the weekend’s London shenanigans and don't forget to check back next week for my next blog post on www.pink-tutu.com where I'll be sharing more details about the upcoming Pink Tutu event in Derbyshire!
